Sub Folders.

Posted: Wed Dec 24, 2014 12:07 pmI know this isn't exactly what you are looking for, but in the next update things will become more organised. The list will appear as all your cars made, and undereath each one, like a little sub-menu, is all the different versions of the car (different engines and trims). Bit like all your Windows folders. This should keep things a bit neater for you!

They are called Families, so you can keep things organized and add them into the same family of cars that belong to the same type. This way you can make a sedan, stationwagon, hatchback and SUV with the same type of nose, rearend etc.

That's actually not true Wizzy. It's just to organise cars into different engines and trim levels, and engines into different versions (tuned for eco, power etc..)
For example:
Platform:
Modern Sedan
Engines:
1.8L (Eco engine model)
(Standard engine model)
(Sport engine model)
Models:
Eco (With 1.8L Eco engine model)
Standard (With 1.8L Standard model, tuned accordingly)
Sport (With 1.8L Sport model, tuned for power)
The whole car model range will be under the "Modern Sedan" platform in an expanding list. And in the engine manager, the different 'tunes' of the 1.8L engine will be under 1.8L engine (or whatever you name it), again in an expanding spoiler style list.

I didn't actually mean your fixtures would stay on different bodies, but you have to replace them.
I thought it would be you could add differnt cars, remake them and add them in the same family!
Oh well... maybe that will come later!

Posted: Wed Dec 24, 2014 7:21 pmWhat Wizzy is talking about will come to the closed beta soon, i.e. that you for example can have a sedan with three trim levels AND a wagon with two trim levels all in the same car family. So there will be a body variant selector and you'll be able to redo the fixtures too.
