Feedback on first few days

Being a auto enthusiast I find this game very addicting lol. The engine builder is very user friendly and offers alot of choice. I know the flat head engines, V6, inline 8, v10, v12, and v16 will come eventually. I do see a few things missing that would help offer more choice in the engine designer.

1. valve location. Buick used a vertical valve OHV design in the 50s and 60s with great success. Having a option for changing valve angle would influence the power and torque curve
2. I know people have complained about pushrod engine design being weak in the game. There should be a option for shaft supported rockers or pin supported. Most US v8s in the 50s and 60s used rocker shafts which allowed for very high revving but lowered breathing ability. Then the option for roller rockers vs flat tappet which decreases friction in push rod motors.
3. Valve diameter adjustment (intake VS exhaust)

Aside from those 3 things I can build just about any motor to fit my gas guzzling, affordable, monstrous, V8 fancy! Im addicted to the game already!

Cheers!

Although everything is plausible, I think your options make the cardesigner even harder than it is. Also, make sure to read this topic: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3464

Also, these new features require to totally recalculate the engine designer, which is obviously not gonna happen.

For the most part, I think the engine designer is pretty much set in terms of new features, adjustments and so on. At least for now :)

That makes sense. Although in the future at some point it would be nice to add these features (after the first version is released of course) 8-)
I think the game will be absolutely awesome when done! Not to mention the possibility of DLC!

FTL is actually a totally different game and genre...but they released the game then later released a large expansion/update that did a lot the community was asking for in terms of additions and complexity...

so pretty much his point is mayhap such suggestions will become reality if the company is big enough to toss such goodies our way

By the quality and thought that is going into the game it is very possible if marketed right the game can be a good seller. I think we all are thinking from the mind set of how much you can add to this game to make it even better! The problem is a game like this is like a model railroad. Its never done until you just stop working on it lol

I am sure the developers have a long list of items they want to add and offer as DLC when they get the first version released (at least thats my hope) 8-)

Your last comment, pretty much sums it all up.
