Cargo & Towing?

Well... as the title says would it be possible to have the added stats of cargo space and towing capacity added to the car design stats?

As in when designing a vehicle you have the option to allow towing by thing vehicle and the design of the chassis affects the maximum capacity the vehicle can tow, kind of the same was fuel economy is calculated or yeah, would it be possible to have the option to enable the vehicle to be used as a tow vehicle and the game chose the max towing capacity capable by the chassis and engine and maybe give a slider to adjust the maximum tow capacity?

Additionally will there be stats on Cargo space, say trunk size and storage/cargo space say if there is options to design pick ups? Will pick ups be on the drawing board?

But yeah just a tiny suggestion that I hope can be EASILY done :)

Re: Cargo & Towing?

Cargo space and passenger space will be in, yes. Towing capacity may be part of a utility stat, that's not decided yet.

Re: Cargo & Towing?

This would be the same as the discussion of adding gastank capacity. It would be cool, but what does it add? It would be another variable for targetgroups to take into account. Would make the game more difficult as it requires more stats to take into account for both play and developer. Cool idea, but I dont think it would add a lot to gameplay than being just 'yet another stat'.

Well as pickups and suvs are body styles I'm assuming that one of the stats that they will be graded on is cargo/towing as that's supposed to be their use.

That was my point to, maybe even have it as an option to tick because u can still tow with some Sedans and hatch's just lower capacity say a V8 pickup can tow 3.5T (7716LB) but a small V6 Sedan maybe only 1.5T (3300LB)

Just my 2 cents

Re: Cargo & Towing?

I'd say towing capacity might become quite important for pick-up trucks, vans and other sorts of commercial/workhorse stuff. We'll have a think about how we proceed with that one.

Re: Cargo & Towing?

I'd definitely suggest the towing capacity stat, but I'm not sure how difficult that would be for you guys. I'll be building a company mostly made up of diesel powered trucks anyways (if the diesel DLC is made, I guarantee you I will be buying it).

Re: Cargo & Towing?

I do belive that a basic towing capicity function was used in a old TEC, but besides that, if we are going to have trucks, this stat should be put into the game.
