Enginebay space vs Maintenance

I've been thinking, but would it be possible to implent a system or slider in wich you (the player) can decide the amount of enginebay space?
Wich would mean that more enginebay space means less cabin space, but if you have more space in the enginebay, the maintenance cost goes down becouse the mechanic has more workingspace and has to remove less parts in order to reach and fix/replace the broken part(s).

A good example is my previous car, a opel (or vauxhall).
If you wanted to replace the Multi belt/serpentine belt, the one wich drives the airco, waterpump, etc. you had to lift the entire engineblock out of the car to replace becouse there was not enough space, while with other cars you can replace them without removing the entire engineblock becouse theres enough space.

or easy said:
More enginebay space = Less maintenance cost = Less Cabinspace
Less enginebay space = More maintenance cost = More Cabinspace

Anyways i hope its clear what i mean.

The "engine bay space left over after putting in the engine" vs. "maintenance cost" is already in. While you suggestion makes perfect sense and would be an interesting compromise, I'm not sure we can get it into the game. The required morphing would be really difficult.

Maybe it would not need as much change to the exterior of the car, more just a notification, and the difference in volume would just be moving the firewall back or forward?

Fitting the much larger 3.5l BMW engine in the bay of the E30, where the 2.3 - 2.5l engine was rather snug, only reqired some application of a lead mallet to the firewall. ;)

same goes for Mercedes Benz W124, the 3.0l M104 to 5.0 M119 - just bash the firewall in

Sorry for the late reply, busy job and whatnot.

But what i wanted to say:
instead of having the possibility of morphing, you could implent a ''system'' in wich you have a carbody (take a midsized 4 door sedan for example) in two variants or edition, one with a big enginebay and less cabin space and one with big cabin space and less enginebayspace.
I dunno if thats easyer to implent?

What about the windshield part of the modeler? I push mine back to give the impression of a longer hood for my classic cars, what if moving that slider added or subtracted from cabin and engine space?

I believe that it has been said before that in one of the next couple of updates the molding will have an actual affect on the car's performance.
