Box/Square Engines?

It would be interesting to see some box/square configuration engines at some point, as they are pretty common in small econ-oriented cars. So will they be coming in the future?

The Impreza is actually a sedan(or saloon). (Talking about the WRX rally-look-a-like. There is an Impreza stationcar, though.

The difference between a hatchback and a sedan(saloon), is that a hatchback actually has the back as a door or 'hatch', where the sedan(saloon) has an additional part of the car sticking out, but without the D roof support.
