Engine modifcation options

Hi all, I just want to say my friend and I have just pre ordered after playing the demo for a few days and all I can say is its kept us talking about how amazing this game is since!

Does anyone know if there will be the ability to compound charge the engines? like twin charging supercharger>turbo and if there will be after market parts like strut braces, anti roll bars, bigger brake kits etc and different ways of mounting the intercoolers?

Also, any idea if we will have the 5 valves per cylinder and V6 engine option?

Re: Engine modifcation options

1. twincharching is a thing and will be there
2. no idea on strut braces, but everything else is comonly used and will be in at some point in the car designer
3. AFAIK there are 3 methods of mounting IC - no IC, top mount, front mount, a long time ago asked the same question and the answer was - no big difference

Re: Engine modifcation options

Please, read this:

http://automationgame.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=137 <--- WHAT WILL BE IN/WHAT WILL BE OUT when the game is released as Full game + what will be DLC

Besides, use the searchfunction on the forum to check for topics like other cooling options for the car. This has been asked a couple of days ago by someone already and has been asnwered by the devs.

Bigger brakes etc, will probably be an option yes, to increase safety for the cars, just like disc brakes will be there (researchable or not) and drum brakes. SO a big chance you can get a research/upgrade for your brakes to increase safetyvalue.

Compound charging = maybe.

Not sure what you mean by aftermarket parts, you're a car company, so do you mean as in selling different parts to the customer to install on their car? There certinally is brake sizing, and anti roll bar stiffness as part of the design of the car, yes.

There will be V6s, and there already IS 5 valves in the game right now (in the demo too!)

Re: Engine modifcation options

Thanks for answering these questions, I will have to properly read the other posts, sorry for that.

...When I say aftermarket, I mean if you say designed a sport variant of a model and you wanted to uprate the car for more sporty handling etc

Sorry, I meant inline 5 cylinder engines.

Inline-5 engines will be available at launch, but they will not be added before we are done with a tycoon part demo.

I don't know the english word or phrase, but in Italy an "aftermarket part" (yes we call it/them with "english" words but maybe they are meaningless for english speakers! :D ) is, for example, a Brembo brakes kit suitable for installation after buying the car from the dealer.
Or, talking about "aftermarket parts" developed from the same car company, for example for the Abarth 500, you can buy the "essesse-koni" kit (more kw and new suspensions) or the "Monza" sport exhaust after buying the car but continuing to have the official warranty from Fiat Group Auto, because they are official kits (obviously you have to install them on official/authorized dealers/workshops).

Re: Engine modifcation options

So "aftermarket" like dealership performance packages, such as the GMPP (General Motors Performance Parts) which can be purchased by the customer or installed by the dealership but still made by the manufacturer. Not "aftermarket" like Injen or K&N.

Re: Engine modifcation options

In my opinion, offers great value to the game when DESIGNING the cars in sandbox. Fun to do and offer different model types. But gameplay wise, I dont see it contribute to the game as in the need for it while runnign your company. You could just tweak the engine a bit, change the exhaust to be more 'loud' and change the suspension setting syourself and release it as a 'Sporty model'. So no aftermarket implementation is needed, but still you can aim for the target groups that wish a more sporty car.
