Platforms and Fixtures

Hey, just want to make a suggestion to help streamline the creation of platforms and fixtures.
It'd be great if once we had customised a fixture (such as the size/shape of a light or badge) we could save it to be used for other platforms, that way it would be much easier to keep brand identity going without constant tweaking from car to car.
The other suggestion is something that may not be technically possible at this time. I was hoping to be able to make small tweaks to my car for a different model without starting again from scratch, such as flaring the wheel arches for a sports model without deleting all of the fixtures first. These features would really improve the experience for me, but I must say I'm loving it so far.

Cheers guys :D

Re: Platforms and Fixtures

I think it'll be quite difficult to do saved size fixtures in a way that makes sense UI wise, but we will have the abillity to have the same front end copied to wagon/hatch/2dr or whatever varients of the same car.

We are looking at improving the ways of making different variants of cars (e.g same car with flared arches)

Also nice choice of cars dude, I also have an NA MX5 an a Lancer :P

Re: Platforms and Fixtures

Sounds good man. Yeah I appreciate the difficultly with developing these kind of features, but in the final game I think it'd be a great feature to have a "parts bin" as it were, where if I could utilise certain parts throughout my range I could save costs via the economies of scale.

Re: Platforms and Fixtures

I'm also getting a bit frustrated with cooling. It seems that if I want to make anything with over 300 or so horsepower, I have to have a HUGE grill on the front of the car. Anything with 500-600+ and I almost literally can't have any bumper left. Considering the power something like this (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/44/Ferrari599_A6_1.JPG) has under the bonnet with such basic grills I feel it shouldn't be such a huge requirement.

Re: Platforms and Fixtures

hello,

is there something like a copy&paste feature planned for fixtures on the same model? would be nice to have if you need something of the same size twice.
also it would be cool if the delete key would work to remove something...i always press it if i want to remove something. :D

and +1 for the grills.
