Could we have this happening? You've made an engine, and you want to make a sports version of a car. Could you hand the engine to something like Cosworth, an independent company, to tune your engine?

Issue ben addressed before and answered by Daffy. Yes you can make branches in your own company, like Toyota/Lexus, Mercedes/Maybach.

In campaign multiplayer this could happen dynamically... a competitor making a contract with you to buy your engine design and tune it. I don't think we'll manage to implement it in the way you are suggesting though, that would require a lot of effort to get right.
