Re: Penalties for those who play a pirated copy of Automatio

The Game Dev Tycoon approach was pretty neat (and rather brilliant), but only really worked that well due to the game's setting. To translate that to Automation, shippings of cars across the oceans would have to be compromised by pirates. :)
Crashing the game we think is never a good option, as word of mouth quickly spreads about the game being broken/buggy, which we need to avoid because that's one of our primary marketing channels. We do have some good solutions in mind already though. ;)

That seems like a pretty decent thing to me :D It would be a funny way to take care of it.

Personally I would MUCH rather see the game brought to feature completion before valuable man hours were spent on piracy.

One of the big penalties is if you put in something like a time bomb into it where if you bought it...the time bomb wouldnt go off but if you pirated it would go off after like 20 minutes and would refuse to open and come up with a message "Please buy the legal copy of this game thank you"

Oh come on Juno, that is not creative.

Better have a flying conrod hit and kill you everytime your engine fails.
