And what about RHD/LHD vehicles, will it be implemented?

Re: (Tycoon) Different Marques for your company

I doubt they would be that specific, especially as we don't see the inside of the cars. Its probably going to be emissions and safety standards, fuel types, and maybe engine size laws, that differ region to region and you'll have to decide whether to invest the extra money and time to build a "world car" that's good for all markets or to just sell specific cars to specific markets.

LHD/RHD is pretty important for market segregation, we just discussed this issue in the team and came to the conclusion that this definitely is needed. :) It won't be "visible", but something you can choose when you come to the engineering section (after the final testing tab).

If you are going to include LHD/RHD then don't the US have different regulations as well? I read that somewher if I remember correctly.

Also, how many countries/regions are you looking to include and will there be taxes or something of the sort?

Probably pretty similar in region granularity as was used in Detroit. :) We don't want crazy micromanagement but not over-generalize either.

Re: (Tycoon) Different Marques for your company

What about a selling Tab after the final testing Tab where you can drag'n drop you Trims to your brands/markets and give them theire selling name. So that the Modelname and trimname you've already gave it is only for internal use. like for example E90 for the BMW 3-series from 2005-2008.
That i can build a car an sell it by 2 Brands under 2 different names. Like the Nissan Primastar, Renault Traffic and Opel Vivaro.
So factories don't have to matter with wich name it would be sold (for example VW Bora in Germany and VW Jetta in USA) they just know its model XWB47 trim US-2 with engine 2.3L-lessoct engine family I4-2,3-16V.

Correction of what I said before about region granularity... I looked at a screenshot from Detroit showing the different regions and wow, I didn't remember it to be that simple:

So obviously, there will be more regions in Automation.

@WoarLord: If it was that easy :P you're missing much of the important tycoon bits there.

It's just a 'nice to have' and after i've seen the last devupdate we getting closer. ;)
And you've got 10hours waitingtime a day less, so my internal german efficiency-calculator says : development could be up to 71.42857142857143% faster

Seriously: the automation-team does a great job.

Re: (Tycoon) Different Marques for your company

Would setting up different companies require a budget for PR and R&D since each brand will probably have to have a different identity? (eg. those in the VAG Group)

And will we be able to purchase other companies to build as well as our own?

Probably you will be able to set up subbrands in different ways, as separate companies entirely or with shared aspects. We'll see when we get there! ;)
