Timing Slider

I know the engine builder has been locked down and the development team is working on the rest of the game and I'm looking forward to it. However, most of my time is currently spent in the engine designer and I like to reproduce real life engines. The timing slider works fine functionally and I have no problems with it as far as calculations go and how it changes performance, etc. Those aforementioned reasons are why I'm cautiously asking if the numerical values for the slider could be calculated into "degrees before/after top dead center".

If that was a possibility without affecting the underlying calculations I would love it. I've only heard of timing referred to as degrees before or after top dead center and while I understand that any value above 50 is advanced timing where it would be degrees before top dead center and vice versa for retart timing, I long to have accurate timing specifications. Furthermore, I'm (probably foolishly) hoping that this could simply be an additional unit option in the settings of the game like it is for BAR and PSI or kW and HP.

I understand that there is much more to the development and coding of this game and as I've said, I'm really pleased with the game thus far. If this was the whole game I probably still would have purchased it so I'm very happy that there is much more to come. If I'm too late for the suggestion and it's too much work, I understand. I would hope that you may consider this once you get to go back to fine tuning after other development work is finished. (Or if you just need a tiny project to get away from whatever debacle you might be dealing with in the car designer.)

Keep up the great work guys.

EDIT: I found this viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4985&p=48991&hilit=retart#p48991 while browsing a little deeper and it answered my question.

I swear I typed retart with a "ded" at the end and it posted like this. I even tried to edit the original post and it came back like this.

:D that's an inside joke, for the longest time it said "retarted" at the timing slider in the game, so now it is the ONLY allowed spelling on the forums. ;)

I knew there had to be some underlying reason as to why it changed no matter what I did. That's funny. Thanks for clearing that up.
