Mirror Engine

I know this is probably trivial but would it be possible to make a button the makes engines a mirror image of themselves, So a I6 could look more like a 7M or a JZ instead of an RB. just a thought.

Re: Mirror Engine

What would it acheave though? It's a reasonably big undertaking, so it'd need some gameplay benefit that made it worth doing.

Re: Mirror Engine

I think the OP is asking for the heads to be reversed. Instead of exhaust on the right side, make it on the left side. Or maybe I completely misunderstood.

Yeah, that's what the OP means. Toyota likes to be different on some of their engines and have the exhaust and intake swapped around compared to the usual exhaust left and intake right (as imagined from the drivers seat). It has no gameplay benefit beyond the aesthetics and IMO is not worth the development time to implement it.

Re: Mirror Engine

The performance of the engine would be in no way different. Considering all engine bays are mirrored anyway, there would be no benefit in fitting the engine into the engine bay either :) so no, that's not something we will do.

not looking to improve power and no all bays are not symmetrical nor are all engines

Could be worse; many Honda engines spin anticlockwise for no particular reason.

The point is: in the game all engine bays are symmetrical, so in the game it wouldn't make much sense :) I do understand that this is not true for real cars ;)

Don't be afraid to make suggestions ThatSupraGuy. You may be sitting on a really cool feature that will dramatically improve the game and if you don't suggest it, no-one will make it! My only opposition to your original suggestion is that it won't improve gameplay and therefore will delay the full version of Automation for no benefit. :D In future, when you make suggestions do a simple check; will this improve gameplay or is it just because I like it? Sometimes you'll have an idea that answers yes to both questions and sometimes it'll be a fence-sitter on gameplay and these suggestions are the ones you should share... The rest you should keep until someone starts a DLC or Automation 2.0 ideas thread!

Can do, will do. I didn't put a whole lot of thought into it originally.
