Handles on bonnet/boot?

Just been thinking, what about being able to have handles on the bonnet/boot of a car, like the original Beetle's bonnet handle, or the boot opening handles you see on the back of most modern cars?

Re: Handles on bonnet/boot?

Well the problem is that each and every thing takes hours to model in 3D, and have it conform to the car body. For this reason, it is unlikely that it will be included.

Badges are a great substitute though. Thin out the winged badge from the top and it'd look just like a handle.

Re: Handles on bonnet/boot?

The issue is not with the modelling as Jakgoe said. The problem with this is that the Doorhandles currently function as Mirror. When placed on one side, its placed on the other side. It is more a coding issue at this point, to have it behave like a Badge. Also, placing the handle on the rear end of the car has to be made available through code, because right now it blocks the handles from being placed there.

Re: Handles on bonnet/boot?

No, I think he means custom "trunk handles" that are different than door handles.

Re: Handles on bonnet/boot?

It's not like there couldn't be the door handles place-able like badges as a sort of placeholder... though that might be a little clutter-y on the GUI if they were separate entities.

Re: Handles on bonnet/boot?

However, they could make different tabs in the handles menu, doorhandles en trunk handles, and when you pick the trunk one it center-aligns.
Still, low priority for now I guess.
