Additional Fixture Reshaping

I was wondering if at some point there was scope for the ability to reshape some fixtures over and above the current options.
e.g the grills Some of the grills have definite corners which in theory could be grabbed and moved independently of the rest of the grill (mirrored of course to maintain symmetry)
e.g "grill 1" is basically a pentagon, you could grab the point of the v and drag it up and down to increase or decrease the V without resizing the rest of the grill, likewise you could grab the top corner and increase the depth of the grill without affecting a V.

Obviously not all (if any) fixtures could support this feature and also there would need to be considerations to what it would do to any textures, but it just a suggestion.

Also is it possible to add the ability to select the fixture on the car without having to click on it, often I like to place headlights on grills, but if I want to amend the light the grill gets selected instead and I have to move it out of the way to access the light.

In any case your time and effort on this game is always appreciated.

Re: Additional Fixture Reshaping

I was thinking about it a short time ago, and want to add some suggestions:
Firstly, it will be better if headlights and taillights are diveded to parts - so most of lights will consist of body (shape), glass, light and indicator - this will allow to create more variations.
Secondly, why can't we add text shield as a fixture? I think, many players will like it.
And finally, there is absolutely NO WINGS! But many production cars have it.

Re: Additional Fixture Reshaping

I think it is too difficult to enable such reshaping, but I'd like to see selection priorities between lights and grilles inverted : I almost always place fog lights in vents, so I'm always bothered with the system.
For the lights, I already asked about it and it is just impossible. The way lights are integrated makes it really hard to work with.
About text, it's already planned, possibly in multiple fonts and on its way some time soon.

Re: Additional Fixture Reshaping

Because of the way they stamp a hole in the car it'd make it very difficult indeed to deform any fixtures beyond just rescaling them.

Ditto with lights and having seperate internal components, there is a quite complicated setup going on to make sure the internals move properly when they deform around the car, and it kind of requires the headlights to be one piece.

Wings are coming, we've even posted a few screenshots on Facebook of them.

Most of these problems we're just going to overcome by having a bigger selection of lights & other fixtures :)

Ah, fair enough. Worth asking about the resize options.
Although is it possible to do something about layered fixtures, where the object underneath is selected over the upper one? E.g. headlights placed on a grill.

Possibly, also quite hard as one fixture has to punch a hole in the other, which is complex. We might be able to work out a cheaty way to do it though :)
