MPG - £ Currency

Hi Guys,

I am new to the site and to the automation concept, however I must admit it is bloody damn impressive. Who would of thought that I would of been spending 6 hours designing engines but with out a shell to put it in. Keep up the good work lads and I will be sure to purchase the latest edition over the next couple of days.

I have noticed that the Economy settings do not display MPG and the currency is in euros and not GBP. Is this something that will be implemented later down the line?

Another question, would you guys object to me adding a link to your site on my you Tube page? this game will definitely deserve credit and once complete and I can surely imagine the interest it will attract.

Keep up the good work !!!

Re: MPG - £ Currency

Well, we can't have MPG yet really as the engines aren't in a car, and that car could have very different gearboxes/weight/drag etc.

We don't have Euro either, only a generic $ unit.

Re: MPG - £ Currency

Can't there be an option to display Dollars into Euros or Pounds ect.?? It's just that I'm from England and it would be more convenient to have an option to change the currency... :?

Re: MPG - £ Currency

dollars are an international curency. euros are used only in europe and the foreign exchange. Pounds are even more limited, to england. so the most obvious choice would be dollars as a currency. I also believe adding another currency will not make the game more enjoyable.

Re: MPG - £ Currency

Yes... exactly! It's not like the euro or pounds isn't international... it will help give people other than from America and various other countries that use dollars to give an estimate of how much they are spending on a car on the game, relative to how much it costs in their country...

Re: MPG - £ Currency

MPG would be nice.
Have a calculation based on a simple generic car to see which engine is truly the most efficient. The current percentage doesn't really help to much, esspiccaly if a v8 has the same percentage as an I4.

it takes about 35 hp including losses to cruise at 120 kmph or 75 mph. you can calculate the consumption using this

Re: MPG - £ Currency

Look, you don't need more than one currency. If people are going to be needy about this, then just make up a fictional currency and make it 'less enjoyable' for everyone.

No one's going to find it more enjoyable because of a currency, this is just a niche request. You expect the guys to waste development resources on a 'feature' that ultimately won't matter for anything in the game? Because really that's what this will be - a waste of time for little to no benefit.

I apologize if I sound terse, but I was in a meeting today with a client asking for ALL KINDS of stupid modifications to the software we're selling them, and this sounds similar to those two hours.

Re: MPG - £ Currency

Currently it is exactly that, a fictious unit! Or do you really think your 1950 standard engine would have cost $800 back then?

If we manage to do so (it's very ambitious, so we don't know yet) we'll try to implement currency markets in the economy part of the game, which would solve all these issues instantly and create a tenfold more! xD
