how do i make modern taillights?

so i tried to make modern taillights, the result would most likely get me hurt:

The idea is there, at least!

I did ask one of the other users if it was possible to create lights without borders, especially the ones that scaled, because as you can see they create these big thick uneven borders that get in the way. So at some point in the near future this task may become a whole lot easier.

here's something i've made, a way of getting rid of the borders (and adding some extra details):

The secret is to put down only one red taillight fixture, and then put some of these bars (contained in the mod pack) on top of them in such a way that your desired shape will remain. Of course, choose the type that will match the type of your taillight borders, otherwise they'll mash up. E.g.: if your taillights have chrome borders, choose the chrome version of these fixtures.
