Engine Size

Hi All,

Just picked up Automation and loving it so far, the only bit that confuses me is the engine size (literal dimensions) relative to the actual car body size.

I created my first car then the engine and it always says "Engine Size too Big", my engine dimensions are in red which I assume is the problem but I can't see anything that relates that to the actual car's dimensions so something "Engine Bay size is this big" type of thing.

Is this in the game at all and I'm missing it or something that isn't available just yet, I think it would be nice to know what limit you have depending on the body so you don't create an engine only to find it's too big at the end!

Decrease bore and stroke size on the block tab, the arrows will change, the colors and basic idea are.
Green, "plenty of room"
Yellow "little cramped, expect a few scraped knuckles, but still okay"
Orange "that air filer change is gonna cost you extra"
and Red "you're not fitting that 427 in your civic"

^ Exactly

Placing the engine longitudinal or transverse makes a difference as well. look at the frame view of the car and look at how much room is there, is it a long hood, is it wider then it is long?

Suspension components take up space as well, keep that in mind. Mcpherson are a little slimmer then double wishbone.

I see - that makes sense :)

Thanks for the clarification!
