Introduction (you can skip this)

Hello everyone! I'm not so sure I'm the first to discover this, but I will share it because I love you guys (in a brotherly/sisterly way).

Okay, so you want to name your engine with a name that involves a special character (•, |, ", etc). Oh no, Automation just told you no! Well this more than likely happens because Windows doesn't allow these characters, but guess what? Automation can read them seamlessly! Read the detailed guide below to learn how to do this.

Using Special Characters in Names

Step 1. Make your engine and give it a name that Automation will allow.
    Example: EcoSmart 1.8L
Step 2. Save your beauitful creation that you've perfected to your liking.
Step 3. Open Notepad (Windows) or another plain text editor of some sort.
Step 4. Select "File", select "Open", then change "Text Documents (*.txt)" to "All Files".

Step 5. Find your engine in C:\Users\(your name)\My Documents\Automation\Engines and open it.
    Example: EcoSmart 1.8LRev0.lua

Step 6. Press CTRL+F and type in "name" and hit enter.

Step 7. Change the characters from acceptable characters to "invalid" characters.
WARNING: DO NOT ERASE THE QUOTATIONS AROUND THE NAME!!!
WARNING: DO NOT USE QUOTATIONS IN YOUR ENGINE'S NAME!!!

Step 8. Once you've named your engine, save it and close Notepad. If you have Automation open, do NOT try to click the engine. Instead, switch to "Car Manager" and back. Your engine will rename itself inside the game.

Please note: Pictures will be coming soon, please be patient. If the guide is too complicated at this early state, please do not try to follow it anyways. I don't want you to corrupt your amazing engine.

Please also note: This works with car files too. It's extremely useful if you had a typo while naming your platform and you've already made a model.

Please note this too: If you do this to a model, there are two (2) name sections for your car; one for the platform and one for the model.

Happy Early Modding!

Enjoy your ultimate naming powers, you little engineers you!
