Help us out: Media

So, we're about to embark on a big media push, we've got a lot of our own contacts, but just wondering if anyone else has any contacts in any gaming or automotive media, could you please PM me if so?

Edit by Killrob: The point of this is to have a proper joint press release about the game, in which carefully selected information is presented in a professional way. Thus, the contacts need to be given to Daffy to add to his list. Cheers!

Edit by Daffy: ^What Killrob says is what I was getting at :D

Good move Daffy, making a list of all the contacts to be used when your press release is ready :) prepare the propaganda storm :P

So that people don't put in work for things that already have been done:

I sent info on how to contact:
1) www.gamestar.de
2) www.pcgames.de
3) www.4players.de

I suggest contacting Top Gear. Their magazine has many subscribers and I'm sure their audience would be interested in Automation. Every month they do a "Gear" section and sometimes they review games so it would be good to get on there or just advertise in there. This is Top Gear in the UK by the way.

I contacted Motor, the polish automotive magazine.

I'm not sure if you will look for a publisher, but Paradox has really been publishing a lot of games. Off the top of my head: Naval War sim, Free-to-play Steampunk Civil War (Being made by ONE guy. He coded the rendering system in ONE night), Magicka.

You might have a good chance. Besides, their CEO is a cool guy.

To go along with Killrob's idea for not putting in duplicate work I sent in for Gamestop.com both news/game and advertising.

I would also contact the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America), they have a magazine they send out monthly to all their members, I'm sure a few of them would like to see this.

Even better would be SAE International, the Society of Automotive Engineers also sends out a monthy magazine and a weekly news letter to its members, and those people would really really love to hear about this game, not to mention you would get some industry giants attention.

Ahh, those are both good ideas I hadn't thought of, cheers

Any suggestions for the best way to contact those guys? (I'm sure they'll have a general contact, but anything specific?)

I have no idea. I only know the regional big wigs in the SCCA and I have no one in SAE.

Have you guys heard of Extra Credits? They do a weekly show on the games industry and might be interested in your project.
