Performance Testing Update Bug-Report Thread

With a new version come new crispy bugs! If you spot them we'd appreciate if you could mention them here,
so that we can go forth and squish them. Not every minor thing will be fixed, as there are higher priority things to do.

If possible, post a bug report with:
1) a description of how you got there (if appropriate)
2) a screenshot of the error message and/or problem/glitch
Current issues that we are aware of:
- Alt-Tab problems
- Tutorial scenarios not working properly
- When you use much too short gearing, the calcs go weird
- Bonnet scoop cooling doesn't add
- Many small and large things... ;-(
So there you go!
Cheers!

If your game doesn't want to load (gets stuck after adding the rocker cover on the loading screen):
Back up / remove all of your old engine files from Documents/Automation/Engines

1st thought, not a bug exactly but the VW golf seems a bit overscale
the new font for the engine and platform lists is somewhat blocky and a bit hard to read on my display (1366x768), I can't send a screen shot unfortunately, they suffer from the same issue as when you alt+tab, ie blank screen.
I lost my old car designs

, I presume they are no longer compatible with the new code

Indeed the old platforms are not compatible anymore, which is unfortunate, but unavoidable because they changed a lot. I also still have the feeling the Golf is too large, even though we already shrunk it ;D

When Revising a model the stats displayed initially seem to belong to the previous model accessed. If you click on the testing button then they refresh and display the current models stats.
What would be nice is if the model list could also show some of the stats, Top Speed, 0-62, etc
BTW is lowering the suspension a "documented" feature? I found it by accident by pressing + on the number pad

I'm getting very random crashes to desktop screen. Automation still runs, but it doesn't get brought back up.
All 5 times have been when putting fixtures on cars... conveniently right when i'm almost done and forget to save along the way
IIRC, once with 4 door modern hatchback, thrice with regular coupe, once with 80's 3 door/hatchback.
Any idea why...? Never had the problem before the patch.

When constructing an inline 4 with max stroke and standard bore with maximum upgrades, (Lightweight forged, titanium conrods, DOHC, 100 cam, VVT all, N/A, DFI, TPC 100)the game crashes once trying to set the exhaust size. Done it multiple times.

Now this one I can't explain how it happened. Just suddenly went weird and zoomed in on the top left corner. An Image:

Do you have any more details for this? I've tried doing this as you said but I can't seem to get it to happen. Is there an error generated or just an "Automation Launcher has stopped working" message?

I have had this happen a couple of times if some other application using DirectX has interfered while the game is running, possibly that?

I have an issue when I double click on a model I get a Lua Error "Step() failed!:[string "--dodgy temp factory stats..."]:415: atempt to call method 'Load' (a nil value)". If I press cancle the game crashes to the desktop and if I press retry it loads an empty garage with "_missing_Car Designer" in the top left which I can exit and continue as normal. If I select the model then press Revise Model button instead I have no problems at all. Also double click works fine for engine designer.
Having plenty of fun with the update though, much thanks to the Devs

Nope, nothing else was running. Also the game tends to stop then crash and force close itself.

Two things I just noticed, in the car manager sceen, my first platform model is not shown in the preview window in the bottom left, the window stays black.
Also the grey colour in the car designer, the one on the very end bottom right, it won't work.
Those are the two things I've noticed just now.

That has always been like that. The reason why it is grey it because there is no colour there and therefore greyed out, but of course it looks like a grey colour and therefore can make you think that it isn't working. Well... at least that is what I think it is.

Yea so I tried to put a lip onto one of the new models... and I deleted the roof.
Convertible 4 door 90's car? Seems legit.
