First of all i want to tell the developers that this is our dream game ( for me and my friends ) we dremt of such game from kids . I already bought the 35$ edition and my friends are to follow . We know that for small team this is HUGE project and i wont make any more suggestions because i see that you guys have the same idea for the game as we do , so im sure i wont suggest anything that you have not thought about . But that offcourse wont stop me to ask you some questions about the game . The first is simple ...SUV's ? . I mean SUV or offroad platforms from the early 90's i suppose . or the possibility to give your platform a higher ride heigh and offroad tires . will this be in the game ?
And then the multiplayer question . Example : So me and my 3 friends , we are playing multiplayer. My friend has allready developed i nice luxury car platform and my other friend has made a good engine for that platform , will it be possible for me to buy from them the platform ( and revise it ...the chassis stays the same ) buy the engine and make a car from them with my badge on it :D . It will be win win cuz i dont have to bother and they can sell them to me on proffit (like the engine costs 2000$ for my friend to make and he sells it to me for 3000$ on his decision ) will this be possible ?
I hope you are working on the tycoon part because it is the Most important part of the game .

Wish you productivity :D and everything best !!!

From your new member , still not introduced :D

Simple question, simple answer: SUVs, yes!
Will you be able to "license" designs to other companies in Single Player and Multiplayer? That is our goal, yes. We don't quite know how it will work, but we'll work towards having that option. Personally, I'd like to see the game being so versatile that you could finish the game without having produced a single car, but licensed out loads of specialized engine designs to big competitor firms. :)
Cheers!

What do you mean with "finish the game"?
Isn't it an open end game?

Nope, it ends at 2020

Why not have it just as Game Dev Tycoon works? It's free to play after game ends but there is not much to do afterwards? Just if someone want's to play an endless game...

There is not much point playing Game Dev Tycoon after the final score has been given to you but some players might enjoy it.

My personal opinion on this is that a fixed ending gives a much better conclusion to things than a vague "you finished the game, or you may continue, too". The experience we want to provide is optimized for the finite game time, and we want to get players to want to play the game again trying different things than in their first playthroughs. This is not achieved by having players stuck in a poorly balanced, rather uninteresting endless mode where nothing new happens and the game mechanics start to whack out.

I agree mostly. But for example in GDT it's nice to see how your newest game makes out if the end is just at the time of release. :)

And in that game there is still much things to do because typically you haven't had chance to develop everything etc.

But if you are going to fex simuate economics and demands more closely then this might be a bad idea. In GDT there is no economy simulation and the demands are just random events, not a real simulation of things.

Yes indeed, GDT is very different in this aspect. There it works and I too continued on to try that one last thing. In Automation, balance breaks after 2020 (the tech system for instance)! So we don't want to go there. :)

in my opion for multiplayer, people prefer to show off how good there company/engines/cars are. So i think there should be more focus toward the online gallery, not only would this show cars/engines but also company stats(profit etc). Inside the online gallery or now 'company website' you would also be able to buy parts from the company(maybe on the forum you can see how much money ur company has in the bank to buy parts). It would be really nice if you could design the online gallery urself much like a website builder. This brings the 'competitive' aspect to the game, and also could allow for endless game play. You simply make ur company more profitable/better rep etc.(allthough i do agree on some points with not having endless gameplay)

While reading your post, StonedRhino, I saw my imaginary "Automation Release ETA" clock ticking from 2014 to 2017 :P
