Is it possible to copy a car?

I've got about four hours in the game and am enjoying it, but I'm confused about something. I've created a car and I want to make a new version of it without losing the initial version. If I do this with the Revise menu option, it changes the default car (unless I'm doing it wrong?) and I can't otherwise figure out how to just clone one car so I can independently change it. Is this possible to do in the current state of the game? Thanks for any help to this newbie :)

Non-Steam version: Open the car and save it under a different name

Steam version: drop down the 2nd model/name menu at the top, and select "new variant". It will make a new copy that you can then start playing around with, without altering the original.

Thanks, that helped. I was using the other drop downs and it wasn't doing what I wanted.

Re: Is it possible to copy a car?

I think Vic meant "click the little copy button", not "select New Variant". Otherwise that's correct :)
