But yes, as Rob says, a lot less of the money ends up in our pocket to be spent on development, and a lot more goes to the publisher, the store and to the costs of physically making the DVDs/Boxes/shipping them to stores.

Instead of making DVDs for retail stores, why not just make cheap activation cards. You can download the game, but use the card purchased in store to activate it to full version.

It's not like we'd just run some cards off the printer and post them to games stores, It doesn't work like that

That implies having a CD-compatible printer with corresponding CDs, but it would be a real fan goodie.
