Re: What are you planning on doing?

I will try and give the range from the cheap to the very sporty to the luxury.

I will most likely focus on super cars/ luxury cars though.

Re: What are you planning on doing?

I've been having great fun trying to make the best econo-engines I can in the engine designer, so I'll probably start with an econobox car and go from there, unless the game follows history and there's no demand for such cars in the early years. I'll also definitely want to make a cargo van and a muscle car. I'm curious how the luxury options will work but that should be fun too. :)

I'll probably have FWD on the econobox and obviously RWD on the muscle car. I'd like to dabble with AWD and see what I can do with it, especially if we can choose an Aluminum or Carbon Fiber driveshaft. Late model econobox will have a turbocharged I3/I4.

Re: What are you planning on doing?

I want to try and make accessible sports cars like BMW E30/E36, Nissan S13/S14/S15 and so on, being reasonably cheap and having really good engines,
mostly keeping to i6 N/A and turbo, kinda don't like the V8's and stuff
RWD with AWD as an option ..
my company will probably crash and burn in the first years of production

Re: What are you planning on doing?

I will have a rather diverse company... a cross between BMW and Lotus, based in the USA. Then I will start producing all the vehicles I think we should have made in the USA, using the design philosophy of classic BMW's in a lighter lotus-esque platform. The sedans will be luxurious, fast, and handle good, while the sports cars will be brutal, no-compromise champion race cars. The Grand Touring cars will be the bread and butter of the company. Mid-sized sports coupes designed for luxery, handling, and top speed that will put most to shame on the autobahn. My platforms will comprise of about 60% front engine-RWD, 25% mid engine-RWD and 15% AWD.

Re: What are you planning on doing?

I am going to make a company that produces vans and super cars and refuses to use anything but mechanical fuel injection.

On a more serious note, if the game will allow you to have more than one brand I'll diversify what I produce quite a bit. One of my definite goals in that case is to have a specialized Engine production company which may also in some cases supply my car division or even the competition.
Vans, wagons, boring middle aged man cars and (occasionaly sporty) ecoboxes with turbocharged i4s and i5s sounds about my bread and butter. Hopefully it will also be possible to have different "trim" levels for a single model, so you can equip the same ecobox with a powerful DOHC i4 and a cheap, reliable DAOHC or SOHC i4.

Re: What are you planning on doing?

I'm gonna start a company based on the italian car companies, and especially Alfa Romeo.
And i'll try to keep most models RWD, but there will be 1 or 2 boxer engined FWD/AWD cars.
The boxer is gonna be the lower class model ofcourse.

The engines will mostly be this line-up: boxer, i4, v6, v8.
Mostly petrol ofcourse.

Re: What are you planning on doing?

I will do a line of practical vehicles to give my company a strong baseline (hatchback's, saloon's, estate's, etc) and top it off with a range of GT cars powered by beefy twin cam V6's and V8's and a few roadsters that pay homage to the good old days but are chock full of modern tech. Overall they will of course be powered by I4's but the roadsters will be powered by straight sixes and eights, small displacement high-winding V12's and because I preordered the forced induction edition I will have a monster V16 super coupe grand tourer that I'll sell for eleventyten billion dollars.
Precision and Technicality will always be beaten by shouting and smoking and power.

Re: What are you planning on doing?

Itll be setup in the southeast US (Tn if they get that specific). Im going to produce utilitarian type vehicles to start. Pickups, vans, the like. If they include expansion into new brands Id like to setup one for moderate luxury cars with a highend muscle car line and another thats based around supercars.

Im such a nerd though, I have a design document drawn up for all of this...its sad really.

That said you should have seen what I had done in anticipation for Sim City back in the day. :)

Re: What are you planning on doing?

I will be doing mostly engine building for other manufacturers as long as the demand is there. I plan to do alot of FI engine builds as well.

I will also build a few simple high power cars to showcase the engines as well. They will be like the FGTs in a way. Simple but powerful and not overly expensive.

Re: What are you planning on doing?

I plan on starting with budget but well build ECO Coupes/Hatches/Sedans/Wagons line with small i3 and i4s, FF of course. Also ill make a diesel version.
Then ill do a sports version with of the coupe with a FR layout and turbos :). Ill move on to a line of mid-ranged sedans with beefier i4s and a v6 or i6 version. Diesel options of course, and perhaps a full-sized v8 sedan, think crown vic. After i have a good base set up, ill start doing a range of Medium-duty truck & Light-duty truck pickups. I'd also like to throw in a rotary sports car :D

Eco lineup (FF layout):
1.0L i3 Diesel Turbo (Hatch/Sedan)
1.4L i4 Petrol/Diesel (Coupe/Hatch/Sedan)
1.6L i4 Petrol/Diesel (Coupe/Hatch/Sedan/Wagon)
1.8L i4 Petrol/Diesel (Coupe/Hatch/Sedan/Wagon)
1.8L i4 Petrol Turbo (Sports Coupe) *FR layout

Mid-range lineup (FF layout & all-wheel drive):
2.0L - 2.4L i4 Petrol/Diesel (middle of the road Sedan) *think honda accord or ford fusion
2.8L - 3.2L i6/v6 Petrol (more luxurious but still affordable)

High-end sedans(FR layout only):
4.2L - 5.0L v8 Petrol (not tuned or anything, just smooth power)

Trucks (4x4):
5.0L - 5.7L v8 petrol (Light duty)
5.8L - 6.7L i6 diesels (heavy duty)

I am just planning on making small cars with stupidly hi powered engines in them.

I think you'll be going bankrupt cuz something like that will break after driving 5 miles and/or cost as much as a private jet.

Re: What are you planning on doing?

I've a few ideas, I think my first attempt will be making a company situated somewhere between VW/Audi and BMW, Sort of more affordable drivers cars, or maybe just a larger range of cars to cover economic smaller cars to larger super cars, probably have two FF platforms, and two FR platforms, eg. Mini size, Focus size, 3-series size, 5-series size, with room to make coupes and wagons as well as regular saloons for the FRs, then have the small city like car and the all-rounder hatch. With 4 platforms and 4-10+ variations, I think that would cover most markets.

I would also like to make an Australian company if that's possible, but use my own ideas instead of just a copy and paste GM/Ford model, but yeah the actual game itself could be so vast, possibilities are endless, even making a car company as it was at one point, then correcting for the mistake which took it out of business and see how modern you can go.
