X-Engine

I was just thinking about this the other day, and I thought I would share my idea with you guys. It is an engine not only cool for automation, but it would work in real life as well! The revolutionary X-engine is kind of like a W-engine but instead of the engines being placed side by side flat, the engines would be placed side by side on their sides, saving a little bit of room and allowing more pistons as well. Imagine fitting 20 pistons in a supercar! There would probably need to be a extra box with a couple of gears in it to convert the two power sources into one. It would be a very cool engine!

Been done for real life aero engines - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolls-Royce_Vulture
Not coming to Automation though, too rare and complex.

Re: X-Engine
Never mind fitting one of those into a car, I'd be more impressed if somebody made a tire capable of putting all that power onto the road.

Turning a airplane into a supercar... Hmmmmmm... Get out the tool box!

Re: X-Engine
That engine would sound lovely on automation it would be fun to tweak around with and keep making it better. It should be added.
Re: X-Engine
imagine a vehicle capable of using the wasp major radial engine. 71.5L, 4360 cubic inch, 4000hp, weighed nearly 4000lbs. even most customized tractor pull tractors use smaller engines.
