Partario's mods & stuff

--NOTE: this post may be outdated. For the latest mods, check Steam Workshop. If you're playing standalone version, you may find the mods here, although stuff may appear here with a delay--

Here are some mods made by me. Currently there are the following mods:

1980s mid size family car

Based on the Citroen BX and, to a lesser extent, a few other 1980s cars. Comes in 6 variants!

1. 1960s-1970s-1980s compact car

Loosely based on the highly influential Fiat 124 and many of its derivatives including various versions of Lada. Available in 4-door sedan, 2-door coupe and a 5-door wagon/hatchback.

2. 1970s Coupe

Influenced by the second generation Opel Manta and, to a smaller extent, a few other cars of the period. Comes in two variants: 2-door coupe and 2-door convertible.

3. 1990s Sedan

Not based on any real model, but inspired by a number of soft rounded low sleek (mainly American) 1990s cars. Comes in 4-door sedan and 2-door coupe.

Re: Partario's mods & stuff

The shape is good, but it still needs some work IMHO.

1- Shapes and stuff

- You should add a chrome trim on the rear most part of the back window. It looks a bit weird how the chrome trim just ends.
- The rear most pillar would look a bit nicer if it was about the same width on its entire height.
- If you look at wagons from that period, the top of the windshield is roughly aligned with the top of the side windows. Right now your windshields seems a bit large.
- It has no seams for the trunk or the hood.
- You should add some plastic surfaces on the underside of the car, to hide the holes around the frame.
- Once again. looking at cars from that period, the doors didn't usually extend all the way to the lower end of the car.

2- Morphing

- You can definitively add more morphing possibilities on the front end. I suggest adding a bone that lets you change the slope of the hood and of the front end that's over the bumper.

3- LUA

- I suggest raising the ride height a little and raising the minimum wheel diameter. This should help the wheels sit better in their arches.

As for the good sides:

-The shape in general looks great.
-Your wheel arches are really nice and morph nicely.
-Back morphs are pretty good.
-No obvious stamping issues.
-No weird reflections, even around the wheel arches. The Mini-Truck still has weird reflections in that area.

It has a lot of potential, and with just a little more work it should be much better.

Re: Partario's mods & stuff

It is a VERY good start! I also like these type of cars! Can't wait to try it out. Basically a lot of feedback which I agree with has already been given by trackpaduser.

Re: Partario's mods & stuff

Not bad for a first effort.
It could use a fifth door/tailgate though.

Re: Partario's mods & stuff

If you ask me a hatchback is not needed. With the wagon's morphing abilities at the back you should be able to get something decent out of it.

I don't agree. I would like a 3-door hatchback version of this. Look at the last picture in his first post; Imagine that hatchback with 3 doors and you get this which I like:

Re: Partario's mods & stuff

Seconded, wagons tend to be longer than their hatchback counterparts.

That can be fixed with morphing, as long as you keep the same amount of windows.

But I agree with Wizzy, a 3 door hatch might be interesting at some point.

Updated the original model a bit, mainly according to trackpaduser's suggestions.

Could you also make a 3 door hatch out of this? and a sedan?

Already started working on sedan version, we'll see how it's gonna turn up.

A 3 door hatch would be pretty cool as well. Which could be morphed into a three door station wagon. That body style pretty much died in the 80s ;)

Re: Partario's mods & stuff

Pretty Much, I reckon it only existed to because of the escort combi van and a way to boost the use of the shell.

Same goes for the Astra / kadett

Recent developments mean that vans have dedicated bodyshells which are later made into passenger vehicles like berlingo, partner, doblo, etc
