The rarest car I have ever owned and still do is a 1983 Mustang GT Turbo.
this is a one of 3500 ever built in late 82, it was what ford did to see if the SVO would be a successful endeavour and to their surprise the GT Turbo sold out like hot cakes! Sadly back in 2009 I got ahold of some good yet scary figures showing that over half of these cars have been totalled and even fewer left in factory form ( which mine is other then a aftermarket gauge pod ) . this means I have a one in about 1200 car.
for a motor it shares the same 2.3L turbo motor as the SVO but with a few differences like the GT Turbo did not come with the intercooler, or blow off valve. It also had a smaller diameter maf sensor, different ecu tune and no variable fuel map switch. I did however get a few goodies that the SVO did not come standard with ( to my knowledge ) I aparently have a larger rear end and it is a LSD, I have the same trans found in the 5.0L GT so I have a stronger trans, I do not have the ugly headlights that killed sales for the svo, I had a different hood scoop and rear spoiler, and my personal favourite I got glass T-tops.
this is a car I will never get rid of and have full intentions of restoring and giving to my kid if I ever decide to have any lol
