Kubby's 3d mod stuff

Hello there!

It's Kubby here. This thread here is dedicated for my 3d mods. (Yeah, I'm not so good at making the introductory posts.

There is one mod so far in my collection, a grille (with 7 variants), which obviously was not inspired by any Skoda.

Known problems:
It has no thumbnails yet, these will be added as soon as I get the thumbnail maker to work
If you stretch it extremely, the edges behave weirdly, especially with the extremely slanted surfaces. It's no worse than with vanilla fixtures though, and it's no problem for normal designs.
A game bug makes one of the vanilla grilles unselectable if you have this grille put in. I can only wait for B1417

Instructions: Unpack directly into your <Automation location>/assets/meshes/carparts/grilles folder

Re: Kubby's 3d mod stuff

A new grille incoming!

This one, is kinda generic, capsule shaped grille, should fit a variety of designs. Has 12 variants (because Automation does not support more :( )

For some bodies (like a Peugeot one), the hole punched through body is not contained in the grille entirely.

Re: Kubby's 3d mod stuff

I don't want to be rude but I have a request...
Can you make some grill with diagonal mesh but where we can see to the inside of the body?

like this...
Image

Also can you add styles to the game grilles? I wanted to have an open option on every grill. Only 3 or 4 have the open one.

I need to be happy WITH them first to be happy to have them put ingame. I'm waiting for a fix/solution to my/to the thumbnail maker not working. When I'll be making the tumbnails, I will do some minor fixes to them when making the thumbnails as well.

Well, this would either require a separate texture, or modelling the mesh. I do not know how to add custom textures, and modelling the mesh would be way too time consuming.

As for the transparent grilles, I'll look into it as soon as the thumbnail maker is working.

While you're at it, that refresh function you had in the yt video would help as well.

Re: Kubby's 3d mod stuff

I cannot get it to work. Unless it is binded to something other than F12 (or ECS_MISSINGNO is the same as ECS_CHROME), it's not working.

Is located in a invisible folder. You need to make this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8-uA6o3cKA (is the same in Windows 8 and 8.1).

Once you have maked this, the Automation folder is in this way: C:\ProgramData\Automation

The shortest way is this: right click in Automation icon (desktop), and select open the location of file, or go to properties, and select in the direct access tab, and click "go to location folder" (or similar).

I hope will help.

Re: Kubby's 3d mod stuff

What the...are you a mind reader? I intend on creating a grille pack first, with 4 or 5 grilles and release it after the can-select-only-from-the-first-page issue is fixed, and then a miscellaneous pack, which will indeed include chrome strips.
