Launcher Update B31

The Launcher has been updated, here are the fixes/changes:

  • Launcher only closes itself for updates to the Launcher itself. The launcher can repetitively download updates to Automation without closing.
  • Launcher does not crash if you are not connected to the internet
  • Launcher will warn if it detects that your graphics device does not support Pixel Shader 3.0 (You can ignore this warning and try to play Automation anyway)
  • Launcher will warn if it detects that your graphics device does not support a high enough resolution (1280x720 is the minimum)
  • Launcher downloads all patches and keeps them in My Documents\Automation\Installers
  • If Automation already has an installer/updater downloaded for the version it is attempting to update to. It will ask if you want to use the existing installer, or download the installer again.

What's with these "Steward" -users who own BMW and only post one single post?

There was this Steward00 -guy who has made one single post and that post was very, very weird to say the least viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1377&start=10.

Re: Launcher Update B31

Good observation ;) if all Stewards did buy the game we'd be a whole lot wealthier :D
So if you happen to be a sincere person asking for joining the beta, then at least buy the game before you ask that.
Why would we even believe anything you say with just one post, and no preorder? Also using slightly different email addresses every time doesn't gain you any believability points...

Re: Launcher Update B31

its a bit like the hoards you see on other forums where there are say - an admin has 150 keys to give away for a Beta testing of a game - or for adding extra features or DLC to a game for free - and they are being given out to users - all of a sudden there are 1000 new "rookie" users and all they do is make a post all in capital letters screaming for a key - and do nothing to contribute to the forum in question - which is why a lot of those free key giveaways insist you either have been a member for sometime or have a postcount over a certain threshold - whether that would actually help for this case where you need people who can do the beta testing properly is more important than someone who has a high post count :P

Re: Launcher Update B31

Exactly! I've actually taken beta testers with like 1 post and they have been really good... but that seems to be the exception to the rule :) There are several barriers to becoming a tester... and I am the final boss battle xD

Re: Launcher Update B31

If you answer the three questions, cross the bridge of death, and defeat the final boss, then sure. :P

For the next subproject we will be looking for people again and I'll put up a general post which details
how to join in and what is expected of a tester (and how we kick out his butt faster than he can look
if he's just playing around).

So keep an eye out for that :)
Cheers!
