Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 5 P&Q]

Aargh! I can't say I'm not disappointed, but as the manager of the Packbat Auto Works BRC racing team I still have confidence in our driver and I believe we will complete the season with a good result. With three races to go, there's still plenty of time to work our way back up the standings.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 5 P&Q]

Well, that was a relatively strong showing for Armada this time around, given I qualified in the usual spot, bang in the middle of the field. The rain probably helped me too. But not even a good drive:sport ratio was enough to save me from making 4 errors!

I think the lesson overall from my perspective is that regardless of how safe or risky you play it, you still do need a car that is even capable of standing on the top in the first place. That is to say, the Bradbury strategy very rarely works!

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 5 P&Q]

^yup...... my 5th place at the standings is just a facade so far. it seems that i was not actually that high in the standings. because i haven't crashed yet, until last night.

most people that are above me already had a crash before. so i think 11th is still pretty good for me :P

Wow, really, your engine reliability?

That was an overcooled engine, so it's the cooling/needed_cooling*reliabilty. Very bad luck indeed!

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 5 P&Q]

I have yet another suggention for this (or future I suppose) series and I promise this one has more sense that previous one. Idea is from WTCC and could really tighten up the field regarding top 10 runners. Balast. WTCC goes by the rule (or al leats it did) that top 6 cars in championship get balast regarding to places. For BRC I suggest that top 5 in race no.1 would gain 5%, 4%... of their weight for the race no.2 and than for the next race it adds up to a certain limit (let's say 10%).

Without wishing to place an opinion in lieu of Der Bayer's, I'd prefer such measures to be instituted much further down the track. There are a few more things about balance to iron out before then: namely risk and chance balancing, and the behaviour of each layout under acceleration/braking.

I'm pretty sure my car sustained the most damage of all competitors that still finished the race under its own power. Really proud of the Boss Motorsports durability. Not so proud of the handling. I'm hoping my car is better suited for the next track or things will be ugly.

NOT a track suited for my car. But then it is not a very good engine, too much low- mid-end power. Should have made it smaller.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 6 P&Q]

For 8 seconds I had the fastest qualifying lap, frustrating driving one spot before Pyrlix! This track looks like it will be supercramped, with 3rd position to 57th position within a 2 second difference gap pit strategy and weather conditions will make huge impacts. Good luck all!

And Packbat, thank you once again for great intel and tools on pit strats :D

Will be updated soon... ish... perhaps... hopefully
