Correct - I think the game unlocking valvetrain changes when you change the year is a bug, actually. You can totally add quality, though.

Erm... did the standard model have an undertray? I think i accidentally messed with it.

Also, can the engines be from TWO different families? Won't my engines be ineligible for any combined category?

Standard had no undertray.

Also, you don't submit the cars - just the engines and screenshots of the Transmission tab. I, as Peppermint, will load the engines into the cars on my end. Accidental changes won't disqualify you because I'll never see them.

You would still be eligible for the Single-Supplier category - Peppermint would prefer not to have to wrangle with multiple outside firms to outfit its cars with engines.

Re: Engine Sourcing 1985 [OPEN]

Decisions, decisions... do I go with a smooth, reliable Ardent design or a sporty, high-tech Suzume design? Hmmm...

(Either is probably going to be short on power compared to others out there... )

Re: Engine Sourcing 1985 [OPEN]

A note on tiebreakers:
  • If two engines get the same score in a trim, whichever wins the most metrics from the other will win the tiebreaker. (If they're tied again, they're just tied, period.)
  • If two combined entries get the same score, whichever wins the most trims from the other wins the tiebreaker. (Again, tied again = tied.)

Weiler Motor Company may take a shot but it'll depend on ...how things are for me.

That said...the company's R&D division is already taking a look to see what it can offer...and then narrow things down.

Re: Engine Sourcing 1985 [OPEN]

I'm glad that there's a good amount of interest in this! Thank you especially to the people who sent in their cars early - nice boost to the ego to see people sign up right away. Definitely looking forward to all the entries still to come, though!

Meanwhile, to make this less of a transparently vacuous attempt to bump the thread mid-week, allow me to present: the Peppermint NE-1! You've already seen the engine; here's the rest of it.

Re: Engine Sourcing 1985 [OPEN]

Ardent has considered designs from both its own engineering department and their partners at Suzume. In the end, the Ardent design was selected for the Peppermint contract bid.

I'll be trying this, but the deadline is also the date of my exam so it may be a squeeze

Thanks... currently studies are a diversion from the work because we're not allowed to sit the exams unless we're doing full time work in an accredited institution :(
