So, if I drop the entire .zip file into the "Extracted" folder, should all the cars be there, or Export the one you want to use from the .zip, then import to game?

Re: Got Rice? Tuners challenge[Accepting Entries, first race

You need to unzip the file, and all the cars will appear there. I guess from there you can just delete the ones you don't want, or place them in another folder.

P.S: You didn't mention the uncontrolable power boost from 50hp -> 400hp in under 1000RPM

Everything under 5k RPM is considered "idle". #Just1.4literthings
Also you must admit, for a 1.4 pushing 400hp, apart from it's fuel ... ehm... efficiency... the thing is running pretty damn well! The power curve is pretty leveled after boost kicks in

Didn't help much. The VVL low cam profile is so low down the revs that it does pretty much nothing on boost :) All in the turbo size and A/R ratios... Also, it seems nobody at Erin engineering figured I'd push 2+ bar of boost into that thing and didn't bother giving me sufficient room for a proper intercooler XD

BlahLord, I forgot to ask, when you say you can overbore the engine, did you mean on the block variant tab, and not the family tab? Or are you saying you can actually alter the size of the engine family? Because the latter probably wouldn't make as much sense.

Re: Got Rice? Tuners challenge[Accepting Entries, first race

Crap, now that I'm building a tuned version, I have a few more questions: are we also allowed to change the type of tyres? Nothing in the tune section implies we can't use semi-slicks.

Also, we can't change the chassis material, that is true. However, are we allowed to change the tech sliders? If creating a new trim, this will cause problems because the sliders will not properly save between trims. However if leaving the tech slider unchanged, the weight of the materials will generally increase significantly because the game's a tycoon game and assumes that you are making the car with updated standards and processes. I can live with that, of course.

This implies that it would be impractical to allow suspension changes because those too will not save properly between trims. If you're to police the rule about not changing the chassis material practically you'll probably need to mandate that people send in a new trim along with the original car. Alternatively you can allow people to change the original model but then you'd have to cross-check it against the gallery quite a bit.

Note: tech slider changes to fixture quality in the model section probably also doesn't save properly between trims.

Re: Got Rice? Tuners challenge[Accepting Entries, first race

Great idea for the competiton! So in the first part (and secod) are we looking only for best times or will improvement count? And will looks have any effect on first 2 parts?
