*side note first
i kinda feel like the factory tab REALLY matters on the pricing. im going bananas on quality slider everywhere and i still can't even make it to the $32k mark.
i feel like after this, we should pause the competition and find a solution to this.

I have update my post with market tab.

I agree with koolkei, we need to figure this out before next round. Maybe the next round master should include factory rules as well...?

A solution to the factory issues could be to leave it at the estimated price, and factor in that that price will be very low and so have a lower price limit set?

i believe that's the best bet so far.

I think that estimated prices are VERY different from final prices though... Maybe just have it be something to take into consideration? like "I'll pay more money for a higher quality product." and stuff like that.

yeah but i don't see it affecting the car stats directly so it's VERY hard to judge what effects it has

Reliability is the only thing affected by the factories in terms of car stats, and it's not a huge difference. The price (and so competitiveness) is affected by it as well, but since this isn't a competition of market ratings, that isn't a real issue. Just that whoever hosts the round makes a test car of what they want and get a general idea of what the estimated price should be.

So I hate to be that guy but....

Results? Do you have a date where you're going to post it?

It's not been that long...

I should have the results ready later tonight assuming that no other issues pop up. I wanted to review them as I got them, but it didn't work out that way.

I didn't say you had to post them today, don't rush it. :P

I was just curious because you said the due date was the 29th but you didn't say when the results would be posted.

No worries! I'm making sure that every car gets fair/equal coverage. Then I'm going to try and say a few things in regards to those who made the shortlist...which isn't all that short lol and then we'll have the winner posted with a few more comments on why I chose that car. I've got a couple more to do so it might be tomorrow instead actually...we'll see how things progress b/c I do want all cars to have equal consideration.

I should have put the laughing emote on my comment b/c that first bit wasn't meant to be snarky...well that's hindsight

EDIT: Unfortunately, I think results are going to have to wait until tomorrow b/c I'm not certain I'll finish everything and do a necessary once over all tonight. I have one and a half cars left and the short list & winner comments to do, but I wasn't able to finish as intended because my realtor stayed 45 mins longer than I anticipated, which delayed quite a few things. Also an issue with a car I almost missed needs some resolution so I make sure everyone has a fair chance.

The rounds are fairly high turnover so we do try to keep delays to a minimum. I appreciate that the whole beta thing does make it a little unstable (can you imagine what moving forums is going to do LOL). For the latter reason it's important to get this round finished before updates to this forum are frozen (we don't know exactly when forum migration will happen, but it will happen!)

Already that this has been going strong without any hiccups for 8 rounds (and minimal input from OP) shows how well this commuity works. But after this round I propose we consider a temporary pause to proceedings to wait for forum migration, then to figure out how we will approach beta, because I can say that the beta builds are going to be changing a fair bit from now until they become the new stable release!

P.S. DoctorNarfy, not to be that guy either, but did you ever finish the Man With A Van reviews?
