Re: Kit car turbo racing 2015

Pending acceptance to challenge, ABR Designs brings a sneak peek of their latest creation

The ABR Greyhound

Image

Without revealing too much, this ugly beast sports a power/weight ratio better than 1:1 both in regards to hp and nm.
And its not a not porsche

Sigh... And yes, the designer really loves wings out of proportion
ABR (ambitious but rubbish) Designs, freshly founded car company in 5th floor apartment, looking for more suitable workshop
Will be updated soon... ish... perhaps... hopefully

Btw when will we know the track that the race will be on, I can't really give my entry because I have to set the downforce and spacing right for the track.

Build one with the most generic setup and hope for the best? ;)

... and you will choose one? i mean, why not voting on one or naming one or several tracks beforehand? well, at least a reason for me to figure out how this custom track Thing works...

one question though:
"safety: advanced 10s can use quality sliders (exception)"
what does that exactly mean? am i free to use the quality slider on safety? only upwards?

It may have too much power... but what can be expected from a 7.2 twin turbo v8

Well, I figured it couldn't hurt to try to kick some butt with a Rear Engine Challenge car that isn't a not-Porsche.

Meet the Storm Road Rocket.

With only a 2.8 liter V6 pushing it along, it doesn't sound all that scary. Until you realize that this evil little monster packs some serious power.

In this version of the car, we've stripped the rear bench seat out of it, ripped all the insulation out of the interior, and turbocharged the living crap out of the engine. The result is a demon of a car that will try to kill you at every corner.

With an insane amount of power for a rear engine car, driving this car is almost certain death, but for those few brief moments, you will have fun.

Thanks to both of you! I guess I must have had it in mind to capture the insanity of the car in the body styling. Rather boring in the front, exciting and wild in the back, just like the engine.

Re: Kit car turbo racing 2015

At first I thought to myself 'what a pity I can't use the tech sliders for the most part'. Then I realised that you can actually push quite a bit out of what you have without even touching the tech sliders. The whole more horsepower than kilograms makes total sense now, I suspect that the times for this challenge are going to be abnormally quick.
