If the service costs are low I doubt it does a lot of revving.

Re: Themed Car Challenge (Season 1 , Round 3) [BUILD]

well. i has the potential to.

at it has peak power at 2700 RPM. so i guess you're right.

im also still debating.

i finished a car. but it stats are not as high as the v12 povozka.
but also not as cheap as the whiskas.
but it does have a super low running cost, thx to the design of running super low emmisions. which i doubt many people would notice at a glance.
but then again. im beaten by the v12. how the hell does a v12 with such low capacity be so efficient and produce so low emmisions?

im in the process of building a new car scraping everything else, and going full wagon. at least trying to. it's relatively expensive.

New for 1990, presenting the facelifted Baltazar Quark Swagon 1.7 EXi. Using our tried and tested (read as very old, as in 1974 old) SOHC 8v cast iron engine, here displacing 1.7 litres and with the new multipoint fuel injection system, the Quark manages to be both economical and sufficiently fast. Couple with a slick 5-speed manual gearbox, the car can reach 100 kph in 13.3s, while only using 7 litres of gasoline per 100 km. Coupled with the massive boot and short footprint, the Quark Swagon is the perfect car for the growing urban family.

Edit: all of that and it gets an airbag, all the safety for you family. For just 12,000.

It is 1990, GTi is the name of the game for cheap hot hatches, and ABR Designs is no slouch in this area.
Presenting the ABR Hamster!

Image

Like it's namesake the hamster is fast, agile and cheap as chips.
Competitive against other GTi's.
Powered by a 1,9L turbocharged I4 producing 136 hp
Does 0-100 in 8 seconds flat, while only using 8,29l/100km
16" alloy wheels, raised bonnet and 2" exhaust is enough to give every teenager wet dreams.

Low emissions and consumption keeps both taxes and insurance at a level even grandma finds reasonable.
Delivered in the lively color "Orange Buzz", inducing passion for driving across all ages and genders.
Buy a Hamster at only 14.400$ today and leave the rest behind in a trail of smoke and dust!
ABR (ambitious but rubbish) Designs, freshly founded car company in 5th floor apartment, looking for more suitable workshop
Will be updated soon... ish... perhaps... hopefully

Sensibility shouldn't cost you cents. Nor should it come at the cost of worry. That's why the Ardent Piper is such a smart buy. Ardent reliability and frugality is built right in, from bumper to bumper. Its Cygnus-series 4-cylider motor is designed to last for years, without exorbitant maintenance costs. It's just as easy at the gas pump, too. Inside you'll find plenty of space for 5, as well as all the creature comforts you expect from Ardent's SE models.

Be sensible. Be Ardent. Starting at $11,100.

Do you grow wary of the trend towards FWD? fret not, as we here over at LHE agree with you.

Intruducing the 1990 Satalite SX4-Quad, the Satalite has enjoyed some success in Group A rally, and this four door version is ready to serve your every need. With a healthy 2.4L inline four and full double wishbone suspension front and back. The Satalite will get you there in comfort with out breaking the bank.

*CEO confidently grabs the microphone to present his company's first market entry at the TCC autoshow*

"Who doesn't want to be different?

Who really thinks 9.2 from 0 to 100 is all a modern 6 cylinder can do? Who is really willing to compromise drivability and comfort for sportiveness? And who is still dreaming of cars to last for decades when new regulations and technological progress ask for economical yet state-of-the art cars at an affordable price?

Well, we we got the new deal for you - ever heard about compact crossovers?

Don't miss your chance to ride the new Scatola GT. The perfect car for the sportive city hunter with all the space a family with 1.5 children could ask for!"

*chairman whispers to his neighbour*
"I told him over 180 km/h, over 180..."

The Commune by Centauri, only burns 5.88L/100km (40mpg US), has the lowest bracket emissions, class leading reliability of 29,000KM between scheduled services, and prices starting under $10,000. The people have a new car.

Rickor Stad

A 1.5 liter 4 cilinder engine is powering the rear wheels. Because front wheels are meant for steering.
Maximum torque is already available at 2500rpm and a topspeed over 180km/h.
Lowest service costs in class and only need service every 26000km.
Available now for less then $12900.

Re: Themed Car Challenge (Season 1 , Round 3) [BUILD]

anyway. here's my ad. well my original ad query anyway

  Code:
it has always been one of the two options. big or cheap.

starting from now we give the third option. BOTH.

KOMODO B-WAGON XS
BIG enough to give you all the loading capabilities you will ever need for your everyday roundabout
CHEAP enough to not need to rob a bank before buying, or after with only $378,8 per year of insurance cost*

served to you on a silver truck for only $12,250 without the bonus regret

but then some bonkers new part-timer scrapped it and built his own version without any permission and let out in the open.
we are still in the progress of processing the said kid.

meanwhile. this was what he made

cue music ; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z13qnzUQwuI
(a lil bit NSFW, dont say i didn't warn you. don't blame me if you can't stop laughing at your workplace)
thx reddit. for the link and for the laughs

i may have been high on fanta when i made this
