6 cylinder didn't paid off. Still, I have the most comfy ride out there. ;)

Re: W.H.A.L.E of an Order (Scores)

On one hand, I'm slowly getting better at these challenges! On the other, aw, so sad, missed the reviews. Perhaps I should have cut back on the engine investment and gone for more safety and comfort. Good show though :) (also, barely lost to NormanVauxhall, that's a huge improvement for me!)

KrispyDoughnut wrote:Fuel efficiency did not really matter to me in the boat challenge. What matters more is prestige, drivability, top speed, and reliability,so I created a fat 6.4 liter v8 pumping out approximately 640hp :o

640hp :o what the hell, I thought I was getting up there with 563hp. How did you manage to get that, and enough fuel efficiency to make the weight and the fuel consumption? I was already kind of pushing it. (Also damn, your reliability would have suffered if you used a highly undersquare engine, unless you decided to put a turbo on it, which would have not done wonders for your drivability or comfort).

At any rate, here's the stats on my car, for anybody else interested.

Well, that went about as I expected. I put too much weight into fuel efficiency and should've put more effort into making horsepower and extra comfort.

My engine is overquare. I used vvt and vvl to improve economy and power. Both enabled me to create a rocket that was good on gas. It is naturally aspirated with a reliability of 68.5.

Re: W.H.A.L.E of an Order (Scores)

Now I understand, that 640 has ridiculous HP and narrow wheels, it must have an incredible top speed which contributes to its strong prestige score. Meanwhile I put my car on 235s, meaning it goes and corners like hell, but I had to make more sacrifices to make the fuel economy and lose a bit of top speed too.

Re: W.H.A.L.E of an Order (Scores)

So, it seems that my car didnt do so well because of my prestige and sportiness and possibly maintenance costs.

That's some excellent efficiency for such a big engine Norman. Think I never got near that. Highest I ever got is somewhere in the 36% I believe.
