If by "test track" you mean Automation track...around 2:17. I'm pretty sure StropMaster or Niall The Fast will smash this like easy peasy lemon squeezy.

well then i should be in with a chance of not being humiliated completely.

but it does appears that i will be bring David along to a fight among Goliath 1700 + Hp

Well... Insofar, the results have been very... interesting. There's quite a lot of spread. It's become quite clear that each entry is good at its' own thing.

Re: Ultimate FWD Challenge Episode 2! Seven Entries In!

Just noticed this:

Body components can be made of anything other than Carbon Fiber.

Not that I'm asking for a rule change halfway through the tournament, but... why??? I would understand if you said you didn't want a dozen carbon bodied cars, but given the no limitations on cost and tech sliders, this strikes me as odd.

It also means it makes it that much harder, if not possible, to get an FF car for this tournament around Green Hell in under 7 minutes, which, due to my own personal idiosyncrasies, makes it much less likely for me to actually enter this because it isn't nearly as satisfying.

LOL!! I have found with the tweaking of my yet unfinished car that it does BETTER with the heavier bodies/chassis than the carbon fiber, the lighter weight options are just not giving me the grip needed on the front with the power I have (that and it kills 10-30mph off the top speed with lighter options), currently trying steel chassis with plastic body, might go aluminum to get a tad more weight.

Just use polymer body panels, you'll be fine.

You're absolutely right, more weight generally means more weight where it's needed, especially in an FF car. I guess I had spent a bit of time tweaking and found this tiny little sweet spot (and believe me it is tiny) in the engine tune to the weight ratio.

Likely I'll just switch bodies for the Group B trim with its ridiculously phat tyre accomodations. A pish to insufficient traction!

Also Vos, had you said that after I had hit post (I got ninja'd), I would have been annoyed, but since you said it first, that's exactly what I'll likely be doing!

Sub 2:00 in the test track  I'll be impressed of you can get it under 2:05 with an FF.

@Vos: It's more the fact that one cannot simply pile on more weight and hope for the best, I have to rebalance the entire car in order to use different materials, which for my purposes, since these are relatively quick builds, just means might as well build an entirely new car.
