BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [Qualifying R5]
What once upon a time was the Bavarian Rallye Challenge has now become the Bavarian RACING Challenge. And with "RACING" I mean "RACING". Direct Competition. Fighting for Position. Epic crashes. Tragic failures. Worn out tyres. Each race a unique story.
After a good start in 1945 we continue in 1955 with updated rules.
Features
- lap after lap after lap, dynamically calculated acceleration, braking and cornering
- standing start
- real time calculated fuel consumption
- tyre wear based on tyre compound and car settings and stats
- engine failures based on engine reliability
- mechanical failures because of crashing based on chassis reliability
- B.R.O.B.O.T: Bavarian Randomly Organised Behaviour On Track: dynamic, random and rulebased artificial intelligence in the driver's seat (overtaking, holding up others, crashing, errors based on car driveability, good and bad starts...)
- Youtube videos of training, qualifying and race sessions with 2D track view, timing and automated text comments (and, thanks to NormanVauxhall, Pyrlix and Pleb, live commenting on Twitch)
- theoretically unlimited number of participants (practically limited by screen size to fields of 38 cars)
Rules and technical specifications
- 1 car per player only
- Chassis and engine year: 1955
- Power to Weight ratio: 0.20 hp/kg or lower
- max. tyre width: 175 mm
- Tyre quality: 0 or lower
- No wings and lips
- max. total cost: $8,000

- Automation Test Track
- Brands Hatch Indy
- Monza 1961-1965
- Norisring
- Südschleife
Race Weekend Format
- Training Session (10 laps) for fuel consumption estimation
- Single lap qualifying (the fastest 38 cars qualify for the race)
- Race 1: 30 minutes. Starting fuel estimated based on training results (heavier cars for gas guzzlers at the beginning)
- Race 2: 30 minutes. Reverse grid from Race 1 results. Same starting fuel rule.
Championship Points

- Lead at least one lap at the finish line: 3p
- only the best 8 out of 10 races of each player count to the championship (2 drop results)
How to participate
- Build a car according to the rules
- Send a PM to me with the 4 .lua files of the car (name the files in-game to "BRC1955-playername-Engines-Families.lua", "BRC1955-playername-Engines-Variants.lua", "BRC1955-playername-Cars-Models.lua" and "BRC1955-playername-Cars-Trims.lua", only edit "playername", the rest should be exactly as I wrote (and case-sensitive)! Please please please do this correctly!). Add the name of your car in the PM (for example BAM 1955 BRC).
- Deadline: June 7, 8 p.m. UTC+2
- Check this thread during the building phase for results of pre-tests to get a feel of the performance of your car.
- Tweak the car if neccessary and send me the new file (only before the first training session of the first race weekend)
- No revisions during the season!
- Questions, problems or suggestions? Feel free to ask!
