Re: Automation Airfield Power Lap Times

I would like to add that I consider Rowan Atkinson a great car connoisseur and a very competent fast driver (having proven this by topping the Top Gear Reasonably Priced Car leaderboard when it already had like 4 dozen times on the board). And that he did fairly recently sell the same F1 he wrecked twice (it was rebuilt both times), because he felt it was time to move on.

Aurora WRC R
The Aurora is a small city hatchback from a subsidiary company of Meliora Automotive (The name of the company is yet to be defined). On it's WRC trim, it has a AWD system and a 1.6 liters turbo DI L4 DOHC producing 308 hp and 331 lb-ft (with mandatory air restrictor). But when the air restrictor is removed and the car is on Tarmac configuration...oh well, good things happen.

Name of car: Aurora WRC R
Company: Alcide Cars (for now)
Intended use: Race Car
Year: 2016
Power & Torque ratings: 351 bhp @ 6,800 rpms -- 346 ft-lb @ 4,700 rpm (without air restrictor)
Engine: 1600cc L4 DOHC
Turbo
Weight: 1232.9 kg
Format: Front transversal engine, AWD.
Lap time: 1:18.18

Re: Automation Airfield Power Lap Times

Oh my, the times are heating up there. I do have a few aces up my sleeve but I must refrain from posting because otherwise it'll ruin the rest of the board.

Also, I just realised something horrible: the closed beta costings has changed such that using a tiny factory actually makes the car a lot cheaper, not more expensive. I tend to use tiny factories because that's what my company has, and it's wrecked my cost estimations plus the competitiveness of my cars. No wonder I thought I was doing better than I was!

Re: Automation Airfield Power Lap Times

Very interesting first post there, Marcus. Congrats on getting first place! Judging by the smoothness of the torque curve alone, that car looks like it's been very well tuned.

Re: Automation Airfield Power Lap Times

The question I'm asking myself now is... is it possible to make cars in Automation accelerate from 50-75 any faster than 0.9s?

Well, not exactly. It is actually 0.02 MPG IIRC.

Re: Automation Airfield Power Lap Times

So on a single lap of Airfield, your car will burn up 80 gallons, and that's if you drive it economically

Should have just built a jet engine.

Does the engine use gasoline as its primary coolant and just dump it out the bottom of the radiator too?
