Re: thecarlover's mods - Range Rover WIP - Need opinions!

Yeah, I figure I should add something to it. I don't want to make it look like plastic panels instead of windows, like the real one, so I just might add some kind of embossed "frame" so to speak, just to have something there.

I don't have too much time at the moment due to school work, so modifying any model will not be done quickly. I'll release the 4 door Range Rovers as they stand sometime today and will increase the poly count at a later date, as well as adding variants.

Edit: Here it is! Still some .lua editing to be done and the thumbnails to do, so it should be released soon.
@TrackPadUser: You're definitely right about the reflection issues around the wheel arches, so I will increase the poly count at some point to fix that.

Sweet model with some nice morphs, but there are some quite substantial panel gaps around the tailgate through which one can see inside the car. You might want to fix those.

I've noticed those appear when adding fixtures to the front but I don't know what I could do to solve it. I could maybe narrow the gaps so that it's a bit less obvious, but other than that, I don't know. If any other modder has a solution to prevent this I'd love to hear about it.

Re: thecarlover's mods - Range Rover available!

Lovely car, Your mods are getting better and better each time and this is your best one to date.

The gaps - these only occur (for me) on the body coloured pillar version. My suggestion is to double check your material assignments and projections. These can and often do change between model variants when exporting. No idea why - it's just a thing .
It could be that what you thought was the rear seam material is now the front and so the game cuts the holes in the wrong place.

Re: thecarlover's mods - Range Rover available!

Thanks! And that's interesting about the gaps, as I did change some materials. I will double check the material assignment and projections and see if I might have made a mistake there. If not, when I do update it, I'll just tighten the seams on the trunk to make that less obvious.

Can you make the 2015 Range Rover sport or the 2016 Volvo XC90, please?

The Range Rover Sport is not on my "to-do list" but modern SUVs are future projects I have in mind. I don't have 3ds Max 2013 at this point (my trial expired and whatnot), so I've been making progress on things in 3ds Max 2016 and will either wait until I can export from that version or see if someone would be willing to export my files for me. Either way, I'm quite busy with school at the moment, so I'm not working nearly as fast as before.

My to-do list is:

Update Range Rover and add two-door version (update partially done, two-door will come after that)
Update .lua for Super Duty Ram slightly, I've already made the versions with bed covers
Update Flex (partially done)
Update Trans Sport
Maybe unibody pickup version of Range Rover (might be moved up if I decide to make it)
Maybe a short wheelbase single cab Super Duty Ram and an SUV version of that size
60s pony car (Mustang-Camaro mashup or just Mustang, convertible and hardtop morphable into fastback)
Maybe the latest Suburban/Escalade ESV/Yukon XL with an Avalanche/Escalade EXT version and a single cab pickup version, possibly a long wheelbase single and crew cab pickups too

No worries, I already got some help for that, but thanks :) I don't have anything to export at the moment, but I'm hoping to at least get something finished this weekend.

Nice to see that people keep finding new uses for my 1970's Le Mans spoiler. ;)

I had no idea it was so old  I saw it as a generic racing spoiler or an extreme ricer wing. In this case, it's a bit of both...
