So I'm starting off easy with an Econoline body (I actually haven't used 3ds Max before this, I had no idea how steep the learning curve would be compared to other programs) and I'm wondering if anyone knowledgeable with making bodies can let me know if I'm on the right track with this?

(Note: I'm not following the blueprint 100%, it's more of a guideline)

Here's my progress!

If anyone has any feedback/tips, I would really appreciate it! I've got maybe 8 hours of experience with 3ds Max now, and I'd like for this to be of at least decent quality.

You seem to be advancing fairly well. The mesh flow seems fairly good and your arches look fairly OK.

Keep going, you show a lot of potential. :D

So I've got the mesh done, the doors, hood, and bumpers as separate objects. Now what...?

Also, are there textures I need to download for the windows, chrome, black trim, etc?

Thanks!

Just realised I forgot the mirror... I'll get right on that.

I have no idea, I hope not. I only have the mesh done, so it's definitely not finished. I just don't know where to go from here.

The sample max files have the materials you need. If you're playing a steam version of the game the SDK is available for download in the tools menu (in steam itself). If you're on a non steam version then the links are in the tutorial video descriptions

Thanks! I've downloaded all that stuff, but the sample is at least 4 cars together and I can't make any sense of it. I managed to get the .max file to appear in the library, but the names don't make sense so I have no idea what I'm doing. When I render, I also get a popup about missing textures from the materials. Any help?

I also have no idea where to begin with the cargo/passenger boxes, so I haven't tried tackling that yet.

Did you install Outliner so that you can turn the appropriate layers on and off in the max file?
