Modding Help

I am currently working on a body to mod into the game, I have gotten it into the game and it is working perfectly but it has some polys displayed in-game as black. Does anyone know why? They have the correct material IDs assigned to them.

Re: Modding Help

Check your mesh, sometimes the polys are not 3 or 4 sided as you thought and can have hidden edges.

Also I've found that sometimes it just happens, to correct I have deleted the faulty poly and recreated it, not forgetting to reapply material and sorting group

Re: Modding Help

Thanks maffc, you were right all I needed to do was remake the polys.

Re: Modding Help

Easy fix also is to go into Vertices mode and mark all Vertices in that area and simply press "WELD"

But it CAN fuck up your Mesh if you have 1 billion verts closely together.

Re: Modding Help

To add to what Pyrlix said, this is usually caused by a bunch of vertices being one over each other.

If you shift-clic on the weld function, you should be able to adjust the welding distance. When fixing those black patches, the distance can be put at 0.
