It's much too wide for what it should be. Fiat 124 was only 1.625m wide, Lada 2107 was only 1.617m wide, Datsun 510 was only 1.560m wide, but that's a Japanese car so they taxed them on how wide they are. Apparently your body is 1.8m wide, which in my opinion is much wider than it should be. :)

In the same way, your 80's body is 2m wide, which is much too wide considering the car I use it as for many time, the Opel Omega A. That car actually was a one size bigger car than your 80's family car (E-Segment instead of D-Segment, which is what I think you intended the family body to be), was only 1.772m wide!

As far as I know, the length of side mirrors aren't normally included in measuring vehicle dimensions. I'm sure Automation does include mirrors and other extruding bits. Thus most bodies' width appears to be about 10-30 cm wider than the official width.

That said, I actually agree with you. :D It does look a wee bit wide compared to the actual Fiat 124/Lada. Looking at the car size dimensions in Automation (which I actually never payed attention to before) it appears the height is only 1.1 m as opposed to 1.4 m which the real world car has! I'm not sure if Automation counts ground clearance when calculating the height of cars.
Also, the blueprints I used didn't line up exactly perfectly, so that may also have caused some deviation.

As for the 1980s family car, I initially based its dimensions loosely on the Opel Rekord E (roughly the same size as the Omega), which is indeed an E-segment car, then made the body and wheelbase slightly shorter to achieve some sort of compromise between the European D-segment and American mid size car. I forgot about the width, so it really is a bit too wide for what it is!

Thanks! I' also have plans for a wagon version and one with modernized bumpers as well. When I get to them, I'll look over the proportions again and might make some adjustments. I'll also fix the nose bug trackpaduser pointed out earlier.

I'm glad you're all liking the bodies. ;)

Sorry for coming late, but I like your body, please do a convertible variant, because we need more convertible body styles. For the Wagon variant, please make it morphable like a Hatchback.

If I had an other very minor thing to suggest.

I would suggest changing the MinZ limit to the "REARSEDAN" bone to give a bit more range.

I did some testing and it seems to work quite well at -100.

Both valid suggestions. Taken into consideration. There could definitely be more convertibles in game.

Tried it out and you're right! Now it can be used to make some nice Fiat 128-like rear ends.

As far as I know it considers the height of the shell only.

Also, nice wagon :D

@np1993: This body'd make a great base for an updated "Comrade Cup" 8-)

I've already made 3 Comrade variants off this body style ;-)

First, Cool body, awesome job...still the second best sold car in the world in a strange way. If you count the SEATS, LADA's and all others all together.

Here's the 1970s coupe: download/file.php?id=14566

Influenced by the Opel Manta B, comes in 2-door coupe bodystyle only.

If you have any criticisms/suggestions or have found a bug, just let me know!
