Re: New Body style Suggestions

Now that longitudinal rear engine is an option, I was thinking it would be fun to have the Volkswagen Type 2 available in 1950, especially since the newly added truck in 1950 can't use it (with good reason given its design).

I'm also interested in a tiny car for 1960, similar to the new 1950 one. Having one for 1960 would be nice since that's when the low octane unleaded becomes available. I was thinking maybe a Fiat 500 or 600. The Syrena (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FSO_Syrena) was a car actually designed to run on low octane. Most any small car should be fine though.

lol - Thanks, but I only know about it from an inquiry I made. Kubboz mentioned it a while ago when I was asking about cars that used low octane unleaded, since I was curious. Janekk mentioned the FSO Warszawa, and from there Wikipedia showed me the Russian Podeba. It was interesting stuff to read about, but I would have liked to learn more.

Ford Sierra mk1 - all the space-age aerodynamics for the otherwise-still-lacking 80's body styles :)
Also the Peugeot 405 and/or French combi-coupes (5-doors) such as Citroen BX or Renault 21 would be nice.

There is already a mid-size blob. I would love to see a compact executive blob as well, though. Although the 80's cars were mainly boxy and rectangular, some were aerodynamic blobs as well (both the Opel Omega and the Audi B3 reached a drag coefficient of 0.29).

For a 1980s compact executive, Audi 80 B3 would be a pretty good source. Or perhaps MB 190.

Now that I think of it, an 80s MB would be a good fit for Automation, since it's quite different from the 80s bodies currently in game, yet generic enough to allow designs where the source material is unrecognizable. I might take it as my next project when I've finished the 4 cars I'm working on at the moment.

Good call. 1980's Mercedes-Benz cars are fine pieces of engineering. :)

Re: New Body style Suggestions

We could certainly use a few 90's, 00's, and 10's compact sedans (not hatchbacks). Could also use some 40's coupes and maybe another 50's big sedan, more along the idea of the '57 Chevy. Something with the big fins common to the American cars of that era.

Re: New Body style Suggestions

I would really love to have properly new stuff in the game, since it's been a while since the last new stuff was added.

Things like a very modern 2015 hatchback, like a Ford Fiesta or Citroen DS3, and compact-sporty SUVs, like the LR Evoque or Porsche Macan.

More 2010s cars are probably needed. After all, cars from this decade are boxier with sharper lines than 2000s cars.
