A-team/Scooby Doo van

I know a panel van isn't exactly an Enzo Ferrari, but I felt like automation could use a hefty, high drag, low aerodynamics, land whale. Its still a work in progress (downloaded 3DS max 4 hours ago) and am still learning how to do everything. It obviously needs more detail and 100 other things.

Tell what you think so far?

Re: A-team/Scooby Doo van

Good start, but I'd say you shouldn't have quite as many edges on those corners you've chamfered, that's going to cause you lots of headaches later on, do the whole thing with fairly low amounts of edges first, then round corners off later :)

Re: A-team/Scooby Doo van

I have it set for 5 lines on the chamfers, do you think 3 would be ideal? Any less and it looks a litte rough and choppy

Something that could morph into a Chevrolet Vandura would definitely be a fine mod addition to the library!

Doors, Mirrors, Bumpers and Bonnet are all seperate objects from body, smoothed out funny shadows on/near fenders, smoother out bonnet

Re: A-team/Scooby Doo van

Not really sure what to do now, or how to move forward. I built the 'model' and I watched all the automationgame Youtube tutorials and am still stuck. The tutorials more or less flew over my head, having less then 10 hours experience with 3DS max, I am not surprised. I am uploading the .max file, if anybody here on the forum wants to take a look at it and lend some pointers, or bring it across the finish line on their own feel free. If someone does finish it and gets it to the point where it is playable, I ask you post the finished product on the forum so it can be shared.

Re: A-team/Scooby Doo van

Just realized that you can't post .max in the forum. PM for the .max if you want it

Re: A-team/Scooby Doo van

Here we go, there are 3 different models, all in different stages of me screwing them up :-p van03.max is the most detailed, but i had messed around with it and might have wrecked it. Have fun/good luck, i might have bitten off more then I can chew.

If you, or somebody you know can finish it go for it. I downloaded 3DS max on a whim, made a "model" if it can be even called that and realized I have no idea what I am doing :-p I can make shapes but don't know what to do with them after that, or if I even made them out of the right 'stuff'.

Offtopic, but wasn't the original Mystery Machine a Dodge A100 van, not a Vandura?

It was either a Dodge A series, or, an Econoline.

Re: A-team/Scooby Doo van

Yeah, it was the A-team van that was the V8 Vandura.
