Re: Gryphon Gear: Rare Beasts of the Track

Is there any limit as to what you are capable strop? Surely there has to be some sort of feat that even your madness can't overcome?

I've never tried going for some insane track times in Automation, and I don't think I want to. I would rather leave that to the right sort of person! :P

The techniques used by him (and a few others) will be nullified in the next update. I can't wait for that!

I missed that! Thanks for bringing me up to speed, I'm very happy to know this.

Neither can I! Not only will it be something new to figure out all over again, but it should hopefully level the playing field.

Guest Feature: Pampero Mk. 1 excels in Classic Rally

For a change of pace, I'd like to take this opportunity to highlight a little piece of history in the bubbly successful 60s car, Manche's Pampero Mk. 1, brought to you by Uruguayan manufacturer FMU.

Image

While the commercial sedan was no pocket rocket, its compact and well balanced platform made it a fine candidate for rallying. In this poster, I hoped to capture the essence of the Art Deco aesthetic of the day, combined with a touch of the naturalistic joy of rally. Andale!

Please note I don't generally take art requests as I don't like breaking promises, but it often takes me a long time to get around to fulfilling them.

Re: Gryphon Gear: Rare Beasts of the Track

Your illustrations are very good, congratulations!

But, how do you do them?
Do you sketch them by hand at first, then apply the colours in the computer or it is all digital?

I really like drawing, but I take the old-school pen and paper approach, thus they're all black and white. I wish I knew an easier way of colouring them.

2.04g. The game cannot take cornering values higher than that.

In this case it's all digital. I use painttool SAI most of the time, and a wacom tablet (intuos3, which is now bordering on ancient). I don't have very much time to invest in skill development but these kind of programs are handy for most of the things I want to do for now.

I used to draw in traditional media and blend with pastels, but an increasingly mobile life and a certain wish to recreate effects digitally pushed me towards tablet and software.

It was a somewhat rhetorical question, but cheers for the real figure :).

Re: Gryphon Gear: Rare Beasts of the Track

Yes, it did take actively looking for ways to break the simulation to get these ridiculous values!

GG News Bulletin

It's been another very quiet month at the factory... but by now one may have realised, quiet doesn't mean not busy!

Therefore, this week in sneak peeks:

Pouring Salt Into the Wound

Image

Could this be another, even faster tilt at the already broken Green Hell record??? If the Nightfury Turbo had already claimed that record, then what manner of car would smash that record by an entire second???

From the Endurance Racing Technical Cooperation, Belua Autoteknik

We have a preview of the prototype class racer. The raw version may look more like madness than racer, but everybody should be assured that it is a very competent endurance prototype... as to how it stacks up as the event draws nearer, remains to be seen of course.

Because Sometimes a Ridiculous Car is Absolutely Essential

In the interests of exchanging ideas and visions, and generating inspiration and huge clouds of tyre smoke, we have invited prominent performance manufacturers to submit production cars with 4 figure outputs to the Mille Cavalli Shootout. We anticipate some of the world's most incredible, exciting, and not to mention completely bonkers cars from the maddest car manufacturers, all in one spot! Gryphon Gear also promises to submit a model of our own, in production-ready trim.

The Upcoming Roster

The time is upon us to announce the formation of the Racing division, Team Ninja Horse, with the addition of a promising rookie to the staff roster (edit: more like Strop dragging in something off the street). What will come of this new investment?
