Ok, but you need expensive 98 octane fuel for this engine.

I usually fill up my daily driver with 98 octane fuel :-s...it's not that expensive if you think about it.
Regular (95 ron) is about 1.27 euro/liter and Super (98 ron) is 1.47 euro/liter. But it prevents knocking, especially in cold weather. And my car is not exactly frugal....it gets about 11l/100km city traffic and 7l/100km highway.

Re: Engine Upload

1.47€/l? Thats very low-priced! Where du you live?

For super plus (98 ron) you pay about 1.65€/l in Germany, so most people buy super (95 ron, 1.57€/l).
So, if you sell an engine for daily use in Germany which needs at least 98 ron, only a few people would buy it I think. They only see that 98 ron is more expensive than 95 ron and then they don't buy it. But maybe I'm wrong ;)

btw:
I fill up my daily driver with 98 ron too. I don't care about the high price here and your right, its better for my engine (its even recommended by Audi) and in the end its just a few euros more expensive than 95 ron.

it gets about 11l/100km city traffic and 7l/100km highway.

hehe, 14-15l/100km city and 9-10l/100km highway.

Re: Engine Upload

I live in Romania. And it is a bit more expensive, but on the other hand, it does keep me nice and relaxed, because my engine is running smoothly.
VAG engines will last a lifetime if taken care of. Maintenance is very important. I would never buy cheap oil or gas, because i would pay more on the long run.

Well, you do have a 2.8 L v6....i make do with a tiny 1.6L AEK 101bph (74kw)

Re: Engine Upload

It is somewhat reliable, not quite economical, but with a bit of economy care in mind, somewhat quiet, it runs on 91 RON...
AND IT'S CHEAP! AND POWERFUL! AND IT'S 1980 COSSACK 2.2 S ENGINE! (Turbocharged variant used in 2200 CTE, might be an I5 or a V6 if these get released. V6 is unlikely though. Heads are too expensive.)

Note the current year is 1981, wanted to get 3-way cats and approximated a situation in which the company is being a little bit advanced, compared to its competitors.

Also, I'm claiming that rocker cover color as Cossack Yellow.

Re: Engine Upload

Here's a big straight six i made, I was trying to make as much torque as possible at the lowest RPM possible while using all cast bottom end, hence the 2000rpm redline.. I don't think I did too bad.

Re: Engine Upload

Finally found time to mess around with this thing, I did a semi-recreation of the m112/E26 engine from my 2002 mercedes c240
Downside- I used a v8, when in reality it is v6
It's not near perfect... but the HP/torque is close. Hopefully the lifespan isn't right either, because I'm about 800 miles over that mark.
