Guess I'll have to up my year to 2020 to beat you...

Can't get higher than 3345 hp, won't go higher for me. I tried almost all combinations. :(

It took a little while but I managed to hit 3,350HP! It's running Cats, and Full Exhaust. :D

Nothing I do seems to let me increase the power, and I have been trying to tune it for about an hour...

I'm thinking I may try dropping the HP by one, and seeing how much I can up the torque @ 3,349HP though.

Can anyone post what they put in the engine like the CC, Valves etc like every part of it. I want to make a super racing car and I cant quite make it :/

Hmmm. I can't get beyond 2474bhp. Boost seems to limit at 18.9 psi as well, and no amount of tinkering with the turbine values change the output.

wasted too much time on this, i got it up to 3303 but i changed the vvt and never was able to get it back...
also how do u make it reliable at this speed? i built it outside of a car

its ethier knocking (reduce the compression)
or its running rich (lower the fuel mixture)

Hats off for that one!!!!

So, someone asked for a usable motor, not a 10.8L beast, so here is a MOHV V8 weighing in at 518 cubic inches (8.5L for you metric junkies) and producing 2624hp. Yes, I'm aware the title says 3000+, but I just don't think it's possible to fit any engine making 3000+ into an actual car. They are simply dyno-stand queens. Behold!!!

Just to prove I can read (and can build such a motor in Automation), here is my 3000+ engine. Yes,it's another lame DOHC 10.8L dyno queen. Certainly not the highest here, but at 3287hp, it isn't awful.

Here's mine. 3339 hp 2502 in 2020. 3333 in 2015. The difference is that I can fit my engine in to a car. Will post car later.

There seems to have been some Balancing changes since I've last had a jab.

Also, it's entirely possible to fit maximum sized V8 engines into a car. And a van, for that matter. And some of the trucks etc.

Hilariously unuseable power though. Just wait until the V12 turbos come out!

I am well aware that this is neither a V8, nor does it produce anywhere near 3000hp. However since some people are talking about usability and "Dyno queens" and the fact that I usually don't do max power builds I felt I should present it here. What it is a reasonably large (4147cc) inline six with a turbo on it. To make it even less fitting for this thread I gave myself some limitations to make it more sensible and realistic. The year was 2020 because who cares. The material for the engine block and cylinder head were open, so I went with simple cast iron for both. The head type was limited to a two valve SOHC, I was only allowed to use forged bottom end parts and the cam profile was not allowed to be in the reds. Fuel system and configuration were once again free, but race intakes were banned, the fuel mixture was limited to 12.5:1 and it had to run pump gas* (*Note that I live in europe, where 95RON is pretty much the standard at petrol stations and 98RON is widely available, and even though a few petrol stations also sell 100RON, for the sake of useability I chose to use 98RON). Finally I was not allowed to exceed 2.00 Bar (29.0076 psi) of boost, and with the exception of the valvetrain quality sliders were capped at +5.
This is the finished product:

As you can see, a pretty potent 952hp and 1018Nm, with an effective powerband that spans a range of 4300rpm. Reliability is a robust 76.6 and the specific fuel consumption wouldn't be out of place in something from 40 years ago, at 538.9g/kWh. Relative to the displacement difference it would produce 2492hp.
Once that was done I went full dyno queen mode on it and tried to find out how much the same engine architecture is capable of:

Adjusted for displacement disparities it develops 3327hp. So there.
