You shouldn't need any mods to build engines!

p.s. not to spoil things, but the power limits in the Steam release are pretty much the same to the power limits in the previous pre-Steam build, b1418. You've got a ways to go yet! ;)

Im not even going to ask how you got 3300+ cause im setting at 3266 and i thought that was the max because no matter what i change and tune it goes lower. :o

Beyond this is quite nit-picky I think.

Ok yeah this has just gone out of hand i thought i hit the roof at 3302 hp but i guess it can get better i want to make a high power engine though that can fit some of the vehicles. :D

Re: 3000+ HP V8 engines, can you beat mine?

Well, now you guys are pretty close (for the year 2015, the limit goes up very slightly in later years and the tunes the engine will tolerate change slightly, but that's a technicality).

  • A cam profile of 100 doesn't necessarily yield the most power
  • The larger the compressor, the higher the top end boost, which you want
  • You just have to find the right size of turbine to match the compressor
  • Then it's a simple matter of balancing the compression and the injection timing

If you want to know what the real limit is, it's very similar to the engine I put in my bus (see the Pikes Peak challenge in the challenges section). That engine was built in b1418: there may be a difference of 1hp either way in the Steam release.

Re: 3000+ HP V8 engines, can you beat mine?

Ok yes i pretty much did that i have my year set to 2020 and my cam profile is an 89 if i move it up the horse power drops and if i move it down the horse power drops so i dont know how to get any closer than where i am. I also have my compressor to the max and i have my turbine set right to so idk i think its all luck on if you hit them magic numbers cause we are all so close here.

I would love to see you guys make engines that can actually be used in the vehicles not 10.8 liter beasts hahah.

Hee Hee Hee. I'm still the one to beat I see.
The Steam build hasn't seem to have changed the engine designer at all,
except for maybe bottom end parts not being quite as strong as before.
