Show me your low-end monsters!

Got a grunt machine you wanna share? Show me!

I've got a crossplane V8 with max displacement. Twin turbos set up to have a HUGE amount of grunt up to about 4500 RPM redline.

2500 RPM? 550 lb/ft of torque. 4000? Over 1100 lb/ft of torque. 4500 redline? 900 horsepower.

Was designed as a heavy-duty truck motor that could suck down any gasoline it could find. 74.7 RON rating, running on the lowest octane gas in the game... And it's putting out those numbers with a 43983 mile lifespan, 26.9 loudness rating , 49.3 smoothness, 295 emissions... Though the problem lies in the fuel economy... 10.12% - 1.249 lb/hph... Eheh... >>

Got something that can beat this? Go ahead and post it! The more the merrier!

Re: Show me your low-end monsters!

with such torque i think it will be economical anyway :P i dont think the % of economy reflects the final economy for example you could have 30% 1.0L i4 and put it in heavy car and economy would be terrible, on the other hand putting engine with lots of torque to same car with less % of economy could actually be more economical cuz its easier to move the thing. thats what i think tho idk what will it be

I got 2770 Nm (2043 ft lbs) @ 2100 rpm, but it was a silly engine with ~2000km lifespan because the bottom end couldn't handle the torque.

Re: Show me your low-end monsters!

thats a pity man...I forgot what range I had on mine...although it was to get the turbo boost in very early in the power band and have it at like 2000rpm and at 3 Bar and that torque will go berserk

Re: Show me your low-end monsters!

Built an engine similar to those you would find in an american 2 1/2 to 5 ton truck.

Year 1972:
5.8L Crossplane V8 105mm bore x 84mm stroke
Push Rod, Four Barrel Carb.
5200 RPM redline, 307 lb-ft of torque at 2100 RPM, 194 HP at 4700 RPM

5.0L I6 102mm bore x 102mm stroke
Push Rod, Two Barrel Carb.
4500 RPM redline, 255 lb-ft of torque at 2100 RPM, 166 HP at 4500 RPM

Tractor Engine:
2.6L I4 84mm bore x 120mm stroke
Push Rod, Two Barrel Carb.
3500 RPM redline, 125 lb-ft of torque at 1600 RPM, 66 HP at 3400 RPM
